Better citizens = less crime & more productivity. The key gatekeep has to be that these benefits only go to citizens not temporary or permanent residents or immigrants. No one will approve of paying toward their own demographic replacement. And so this policy never come to pass.

I'd rather society spend 20% of the GDP on young parents+kids than on basically anything else. Cash in the hands of parents is the single best policy to ensure the next generation will have fewer shithead urchins who grow up to be useless criminals and bozos.
Hi!. I wrote the meta-analysis. This take is wrong. Taiwan's GDP per capita is ~$40k. A 4% present-value benefit yields ~1% TFR increase. TFR is 0.87, so needs to rise 141% to hit 2.1. That means benefit present value must equal 500-600% of GDP per capita. A $12-$15k,000/yr.
