I praised your op-ed on deficit reduction. But traditional liberalism went wrong in allowing massive inequality & the decline of the American dream for the young. You blame Mamdani's platform but what about the governing elite who brought us to this place of voter anger?.
Rent control is the second-best way to destroy a city, after bombing. And, because of what it leads to in terms of under investment in repairing, maintaining, constructing new apartments, I think this is likely to exacerbate rather than improve issues around housing affordability.

Are you claiming @JDVance that $16 billion in Medicaid for undocumented immigrants is bankrupting this country, not the trillions in tax breaks for the rich? The biggest benefit for their family is schooling ($85 billion) which even Reagan supported. Are you for cutting that?.
The thing that will bankrupt this country more than any other policy is flooding the country with illegal immigration and then giving those migrants generous benefits. The OBBB fixes this problem. And therefore it must pass.

What happened to you @JDVance --author of Hillbilly Elegy --now shrugging off Medicaid cuts that will close rural hospitals and kick millions off healthcare as "minutiae?".
Everything else—the CBO score, the proper baseline, the minutiae of the Medicaid policy—is immaterial compared to the ICE money and immigration enforcement provisions.

How about supporting Republican members like @MassieforKY who are standing up against the Bill and being threatened with their careers?.
Every member of Congress who campaigned on reducing government spending and then immediately voted for the biggest debt increase in history should hang their head in shame!. And they will lose their primary next year if it is the last thing I do on this Earth.
