This is the bit I've never understood about PFFs grading system. Grading a player snap by snap - Good Idea. Averaging stuff with little to no explanation - ???.
@geoffschwartz I really don’t get how PFF comes to the result of Sewell being better even if we accept their system as a good one. The grades make no sense. Lane top 5 in both run and pass, for all Ts. Sewell 2nd in run and 30th pass. Pass pro much more valuable. Make it make sense 🤷♂️.

The Job of the O-line is to create a pocket. Tackles are taught to send pressure around the edge to create a 'pocket'. Sewell gives up the initial inside rush, then can't keep the DE away. Lane sends him high and away from hurts, his DE wins because hurts leaves the pocket.
