I've always liked Shildt as a manager, but continuing to hit Luis Arraez 2nd in the order ahead of guys like Machado and Merrill is a very silly thing to do. In 41 playoff PAs with the Padres, he has 0 RBIs, 0 XBHs, and an OPS under .500.

My best hitters want training to be challenging. My average hitters want to feel good. My best hitters lock in their moves and challenge it. My average hitters lock in there moves but don't want to face adversity. Lesson in there. (In game results validates this observation)
