I see some people calling Liam Doyle a future reliever. There is NOTHING to suggest that he will be a reliever other than "he throws hard." . Just like Skenes and Burns, Doyle is a top 5 pick out of college that throws 101. He could be up as early as next year if he balls out.

Gordon Graceffo came into today with a 6.05 ERA but just a 2.52 FIP. The results haven't been there yet but you can see the talent when hes on the mound. I think he'll be one of their best relievers in the 2nd half. Kid's a stud.

The MLB choosing to showcase the Future's Game on a Saturday afternoon while all 30 MLB teams are currently playing is one of the worst acts of marketing I've ever seen. They should have made it the lone Sunday Night Baseball game this weekend.

Misiorowski has a 2.81 ERA in 25.2 IP this year. Erick Fedde had a 5 start stretch this year where he had a 2.64 ERA in 30 IP. 5 starts is way too small of a sample size for an all-star game.

Jacob Misiorowski is a phenomenal young talent, but selecting him as an all-star after 5 starts over guys like Sonny Gray and many other good pitchers who have grinded all season is malpractice. It's an exhibition, but it's also an honor and the most deserving should be there.

And this has nothing to do with him personally. He has always seemed like a nice guy and deserves 0 personal criticism. But he's just not performing well. He can't strike guys out or throw strikes, or get guys to chase.

Erick Fedde expected stats in 2025:. 256 BA. 295 xBA. 4.79 ERA.5.57 xERA. 331 wOBA. 373 xwOBA. He's actually still been very lucky with batted ball luck this year. It could actually be way worse still.

If anything, getting a guy or 2 on an expiring deal tells the guys that they aren't giving up on the season. But giving up any decent prospects would be a dumb decision. I'd see what teams are offering on Helsley. Not sure if anyone will offer enough to trade him now.

Currently, the Cardinals stand 1 game out of a playoff spot. Should they sell future assets/prospects to win this year? NO. Should they look at getting a cheap bat and reliever on an expiring deal? YES. Should they still listen to offers on Helsley? YES.

This can be taken many different ways. But with the delay and on short rest, I'd rather Gray be honest and exit at his best as opposed to throwing 88 mph fastballs and getting hit around because "hes a starter and needs to go longer.". The bullpen held the lead and we won 🙌.
