@EmergencyMedBMJ @jamesnchlsn @SnowdoniaEM @YGEDBangor @RCollEM If you haven’t got time to read this (short and well written) paper, the spoiler is that DELAY to care is by far the most important factor. Much more important than any individual condition. #resuscitateemergencycare

The word legend is often used too lightly nowadays. RIP JOSS NAYLOR MBE 😢🌈 You REALLY were and always will be a legend. I’ve no doubt he’s running about in the heavens looking down upon his ancestral home of Wasdale. RIP friend 👍 #lakedistrict #legend

Actually unbelievable. First imprisonment for holding a sign, now professional misconduct despite exemplifying good medical practice 🤯Brave and principled doctors like Sarah Benn should be celebrated for taking action to protect public health.

Yes, sepsis can be HARD to spot, especially in the early stages, but if the department is crowded it gets a whole lot harder. This gem of a paper builds on the leading cause of Coroners publishing PFD reports (Spoiler it is DELAY)
emj.bmj.com
Since 2013, coroners in England and Wales have issued ‘Prevention of Future Deaths’ (PFD) reports to individuals or organisations if, following an inquest, they believe action should be taken to...
30 deaths linked to 'systemic' failings in sepsis care Major progress was made on sepsis in 2010s, but investigation by @emilyltownsend finds thats been significantly reversed amid repeated failures in recognising & treating condition 🧵1/ https://t.co/gN3di9abMI

Spending yet another day off chasing payroll for >£5k in wages they’ve owed me since Feb which I need imminently for a house deposit whilst simultaneously shelling out over a £1k on GMC, MDU and BMA fees, no wonder NHS junior docs are so dissatisfied 🦀

One of the UK’s biggest climate protests featuring health professionals is taking place in London over four days from 21 April. We ask some of those taking part about what prompted them to take action https://t.co/BVnVMMdema

'For the most junior doctors, it is a difference between £14 an hour and £19 an hour.' @DrAmirKhanGP tells @ranvir01 and @richardm56 that junior doctors want pay restoration. He adds that Steve Barclay isn't coming forward with 'any credible offers'.

APD will be halved for domestic flights on Saturday, making it even cheaper to fly. The London-Edinburgh route is predicted to benefit the most. Just a reminder that this is ALREADY the busiest air route in the UK, and has a direct rail connection. #TrainsNotPlanes

It comes to something when a Barrister, who would normally fight the case in court, is so convinced of a legal and moral wrong doing he climbs into the trees he is trying to protect. This is a crime against the environment, biodiversity and community and possibly in law.
Update: the police have now surrounded my tree with fencing (kindly provided by the developer they are colluding with today) & are covering it in police ‘crime scene’ tape so the tree is a crime scene. It would be funny if it wasn’t such an abuse of power & waste of resources

Unnecessary glove use creates tonnes of waste, carbon emissions and costs the NHS billions. Hats (and gloves) off to @UHSussex
#ClimateAction #SustainableHealthCare
Through our Patient First, Planet First Green Plan, we are initiating conversations with staff about how we can safely reduce unnecessary glove use. Find out more and check out our infographic highlighting scenarios when gloves don’t have to be worn: https://t.co/gbD3Dux6y1

1500+ 12hr+ waits in Scotland's EDs in a week's data just published. The previous "never event" is now seen in just about every ED in the country, every day. This is staggeringly bad, running into the usually difficult winter period. @RCEMpresident @VP_Scot_RCEM @RCollEM
