This is Bowling, between Dalmuir and Helensburgh/Balloch where we took the proactive decision to close the line, given the extreme rainfall we’re seeing in this area today. @ScotRail @CalSleeper @GBRailfreight

Here’s the state of play at Dalmuir Twin Tunnels. As you can see, the water level is massive – it’s up to around the window level on a train. The fixed pumps here have been completely overwhelmed by the extreme rainfall. It'll take time for this to clear once the rain stops.
We’ve had to close the Yoker line between Clydebank and Dalmuir due to flooding above the rails at the Dalmuir twin-tunnels. Our pumps in the tunnels are working but have been overwhelmed by the volume of water.

Two drinking water fountains have been installed at each station to encourage people to refill their multiple use water bottles on the go rather than buying plastic ones. It is expected each location will save up to 1,000 plastic bottles per week #Edinburgh #Glasgow #plasticfree

👷⚡️ Our team at Kilwinning have shared this photo of the considerable damage done to one of our overhead line structures, caused by a fallen tree. We're now assessing what needs to be done to repair it and reopen the railway for @ScotRail services. More soon.

More good news – this time at Bowling. Flooding has cleared, and we’ve cleaned the tracks and a nearby level crossing of debris. We’ve also replaced a fence at the station which had washed away. Next step? Run an empty @ScotRail train through before we reopen the railway.
Bowling station this morning. Water levels are still above the rails at one end of the platform but are dropping. There’s a huge amount of water coming down off the Old Kilpatrick hills. For those who don’t live locally, you can see how close we are to the River Clyde here.

This is the track damage we’re dealing with north of Gleneagles (between Dunblane and Perth). Unfortunately, this won’t be an overnight fix. We’ve begun work on a recovery plan and we’ll update you as soon as we can. @ScotRail @CalSleeper @LNER @DRSgovuk.
We’ve found track damage between Dunblane and Perth, at Forgandenny, south of the Earn viaduct. The stone which supports the track has been washed away. This means the line will remain closed for the rest of the day at least. More soon. @ScotRail @CalSleeper @LNER.

Here's the situation at Bowling station a short while ago. Similar to Dalmuir and Dalmarnock, flood levels are dropping but the amount of water in the surrounding area is ginormous and it’s draining away slowly. Our team will be out working in the area tonight.
