Here’s the state of play at Dalmuir Twin Tunnels. As you can see, the water level is massive – it’s up to around the window level on a train. The fixed pumps here have been completely overwhelmed by the extreme rainfall. It'll take time for this to clear once the rain stops.

#Glasgow Central Station was opened on this day in 1879. It is the beating heart of #Scotland’s rail network - central to the city’s economic & social life. A genuinely iconic presence beloved by generations of Glaswegians & from afar. Happy Birthday #Glasgow Central. #139

🐄 Sorry if you’re being delayed on the Edinburgh-Glasgow mainline this morning near Lenzie. We’re dealing with a herd of 12 cows who’ve found their way onto the railway. Our response team are working to remove them as quickly as we can. @ScotRail

Here's a photo of the scene at Wallyford. We're working with the emergency services to find the best way to recover the HGV. Once that's done, we'll then need to check for damage to the track and overhead line kit. @LNER @TPExpressTrains @LumoTravel @CrossCountryUK @DBCargoUK

This is Gartly level crossing. It's between Huntly and Insch. It failed this morning as ice overwhelmed the equipment, and our team had to hand signal trains across until it was cleared. When our team arrived, it was -16°. Well done and thank you! #ScotlandsRailway

Here's a birds-eye view from our #AirOps helicopter between Dyce and Kintore on the Aberdeen - Inverness route. 🚁. The River Don has burst its banks, though the railway is now open.
