Progressive policies are pro-small business. Providing everyone with healthcare is a WIN for small businesses because they’ll be able to compete with the benefits packages of large corporations. It’ll also allow more people to start businesses. 1/

Three multibillionaires now own more wealth than the bottom half of America – 160 million Americans. This is what oligarchy looks like.

If we get universal health care and my taxes end up going for other people's health care ... I won't care at all because my premiums already pay even more for other people's health care plus a insurance executive's yacht.

Last 48 hrs Ive been hearing all the reasons why universal health care in other countries sucks: high taxes, wait times, lower pay. All due respect to these problems, but we have system designed to make a handful of corporations immense profit by denying medical care to everybody

Amazes me that people still don’t get it. Health insurance companies don’t care about you. They want to extract money from your healthy body until you are no longer healthy, then they want you to die as quickly as possible so they can focus on other money producing bodies.

Amazing work by @edyong209 shedding light on the unimaginable consequence of the pandemic we have unfortunately normalized.
1/ The U.S. seems intent on brushing aside the losses of COVID-19 in its desire to move past the crisis. But the grief of millions of people is not going away, writes @edyong209:

Climb: I’ve recently been spending a lot of time in cold places, but right now I’m thinking about the warm desert of Nevada. Red rocks has always been my favorite place to climb, and I hope I can get back there soon!

Ski: I wasn’t able to get out in the mountains this weekend, but I just wanted to take a moment to thank all the folks at wsdot for all the work they do, we wouldn’t be able to ski without them!
We wanted to provide an update from our neighbor at White Pass. Crews still working hard to remove snow and debris from the roadway. Some of the blower cuts made were over 16 feet deep! Still dealing with unprecedented amounts of snow.
