There is still much more work to be done to ensure survivors in the UK are given the support and protection they need, and we welcome the opportunity for our young survivors to participate in bringing about the change needed.

We are pleased that the voices of our young people were heard and that the committee acknowledges the need to continue working with survivors to ensure the Modern Slavery Act is properly utilised to protect everyone.

We welcome the report’s recommendations, particularly on the need for tackling human trafficking and modern slavery to be re-prioritised and separated from immigration enforcement. Our young people told the committee when we met them in May that this is vital to their recovery.
