1/7 Really happy to see my PhD work published in ✨Developmental Cell✨ today! We find human endoderm is specified by two developmental trajectories 🔀, and the choice between alternate routes is dictated by the combinatorial BMP4/Activin signalling.

.@OliverCKInge and colleagues at the @SantosLaB8 explored how activin and bone morphogenetic protein 4 (BMP4) guide fate specification during human #gastrulation. Activin and BMP4 signaling determine the choice between alternate developmental routes. | @TheCrick

Today at @CellSystemsCP we report in back-to-back papers (!) led by @nbwang22 on how cell state potentiates the influence of individual transcription factors to drive cell-fate programming & how we used these insights to scale up production of motor neurons from primary

It is with my heart broken that I share that Philippe Bastiaens, Max Plank Director and my PhD advisor has passed away 💔. Philippe had a huge impact in my life and where I am today. His premature passing is heartbreaking. DM me if you would like to be informed of next steps. 🙏
