The advent of clonal multicellularity is a critical evolutionary milestone, seen often in eukaryotes, rarely in bacteria, and only once in archaea. We show that uniaxial compression induces clonal...

New #humanH5N1 infections (Washington, 2.3.4.4b H5N1 infections). H5 HA glycosylation pattern is similar to the avian 2.3.4.4b H5N1 viruses. WA human H5N1 shows 7 glycosylation sites (unlike 6 glycosylation sites in HA of dairy cattle H5N1 viruses). @RanjanaNataraj
Our new work attempting 2 important questions: Why did 2.3.4.4b clade #H5N1 emerge as a highly pathogenic panzootic virus, which has not been achieved by previous viruses? Is the pairing of avian influenza HA and NA stochastic or molecularly programmed? https://t.co/mPnb9XEfhj
