Don't test, don't know, don't treat, don't care. The story of COVID-19 in Ontario and Canada. "Far too little effort has gone into informing the public about the long-term health hazards posed by repeated COVID-19 infections". By @DrGorfinkel

As much as I have enjoyed connecting with so many interesting and supportive people here, I am planning an exit , or at least a dramatic reduction. Anyone who wants to find me where the grass is greener and skies are bluer, please do.

I got it. 75% of ppl felt like US was not “on the right track” and for 2 yrs Bidens approval was ~40%. With “that headwind … it would be a miracle” for the incumbent to win (Chris Wallace CNN). And most ppl don’t understand economics but do feel rising cost of food, gas, rent.
Can someone please explain what just happened in the US, and what I can do to prevent a similar thing from happening in Canada? I genuinely do not understand.

@KashPrime @BarterDee Peds resp admissions were largely BELOW prepandemic historical rates ‘til mid Mar 2022 when mask mandates ended (⬇️ in pic). Since then, peds rates have largely been above prepandemic rates. The 2y rolling avg (since Aug 20/24) offers false assurances. The kids are not alright.

Yes, could we please get some detailed guidance for primary care from an infectious disease specialist who does not minimize the role of Covid and does not blame immunity debt? And can we get some swabs to test? Previous answer from public health was a loud no.
Pediatric admissions in Ontario are much higher than historic average now (black line below). Colleagues are seeing high levels of Mycoplasma infections, which is in line with recent outbreaks reported in the US and Europe. Thinking out loud: - Mycoplasma doesn't respond well

Today's essential read for all educators and parents "modernizing HVAC in schools is a sensible and very justifiable public investment that I believe every elected official – especially finance ministers - should get behind" https://t.co/iCtlCIongy

Thrilled to see @janephilpott prepared and hopefully empowered to take on this and many other challenges to the imperative to provide #primarycare for all.
Ontario should stop penalizing family doctors when their patients visit walk-in clinics https://t.co/7khT9iunOO

Thank goodness I didn’t buy the Dr. Henry @Fluevog shoes back in 2020. Dodged a bullet there.
Dr. Bonnie Henry just now: "If you've had covid recently, you've had a boost to your immunity. So that's a good thing." No, Dr. Henry, getting covid is NEVER a good thing. It won't help or improve your immune system. Your immune system isn't a muscle, and covid isn't the flu.

Thank you to @CMAJ for publishing my essay on how it feels to be one of the few physicians still trying not to get Covid and trying to educate my patients about why they too should try not to get Covid. #saltingthevibes

In the #ygk Kingston ON area, it might just be me and @DrKarenWalker who still utilize these protections. I would be happy to join. I cannot speak for her.
I think a short article to @CMAJ or Canadian Family Physician written by a few physicians who use ventilation, filtration, and respirators/masks in their offices would be so great!! Please share if you agree 💕

Like many doctors, I was once condescending to obese patients. I regret it. My own experience initially led me to believe that weight loss was just a matter of commitment and a modicum of self-control, by Dr. Prescott Lee https://t.co/uPZMxJDPpS via @PostOpinions @ObesityMatters
