Working with the VCSE shouldn't feel like hurding ants - when you look at the sector overall in a locality they are a big part of supporting local communities and getting the commissioning approach right is essential. There are good examples in Bradford

The providers don't 'deliver' outcomes - they emerge from complex systems -you can't commission a system to deliver outcomes (if you want to know more about this and @tobyjlowe work on human learning systems you might be interested in this workshop: https://t.co/V7kzOZDKYc)

Things I took from the discussion include: commissioning isn't a dirty word but it's starting to mean something different - less transactional, more relational and focused on partnerships and population health work 'on an industrial scale'...

I will be interested to hear whether our #kfcommissioning conference speakers think commissioning is a 'dirty word' in our first session at today's conference on the future of commissioning - including @tobyjlowe @mattneligan @KimShutler Sasha Bhat and Ed Jones.

I'm trying to write more blogs - so here is my first one in a while about the government's recent announcement on waiting times. People at The King's Fund had different views on this announcement, but here's mine:

So pleased to have been involved with @TheKingsFund work on inequality in health care within #NHS & especially around Homelessness. Take a read (& watch my video, about half way down). As always, my advice is common sense, which sadly. isn't very common https://t.co/frXsscxUu5
