"In fighting against the push for clean electricity by 2035, our provincial government is signing us up to live in a world substantially more unhealthy, expensive, and dangerous than the one we grew up in. We deserve better." #ableg #abpoli

NOVEMBER DATA: Australia🇦🇺 got a record 44% of its electricity from solar+wind alone in November💪 https://t.co/5lKwmEhBsq

The idea that using renewables means you need two systems which will be more expensive is just ignorant poppycrock. You actually need one system instead of two (you can do away with gas heating) and the mechanism that optimizes the use of solar and wind makes it robust too.
“We’re running a two system grid: one to harvest cheap variable energy and another to guarantee reliability. Two systems cost more than one.”

Electrification + efficiency — not rolling back climate policy — is the real path to a competitive European industry. High fossil fuel prices hit industry hardest, not the Green Deal. Undermining clean-energy commitments would only push investment elsewhere. My interview with

'Community driven approach' is often code for endless engagement loops & approval processes that hand control over to vocal NIMBYs that want zero change. The big community concerns have been laid out in the motion. Addressing them through tweaks to permitted use RCG is a win-win
I've sponsored a motion to repeal blanket rezoning -- and our Executive Committee has just approved sending it to full Council for debate. I'm committed to addressing blanket rezoning and replacing it with a community-driven approach, to restore certainty and build needed housing

Solar is basically all of global electricity growth at this point.
Good morning with good news: Global solar grew by 498 TWh (+31%) in Q1-Q3 2025, compared to 2024, "the largest increase ever over a nine-month period." Global solar output in first 3 quarters of 2025 already surpassed total output in all of 2024. https://t.co/GY82tGzjUe

Critics of renewables often point to land use as a reason not to do wind & solar. Land use IS a real issue for all energy assets incl renewables unless onsite. But what critics conveniently forget is huge land impact of fossil fuels. Aerial view of fracking sites in Texas. 👇

Don’t be a mug — read the trend. 📈 Renewables are set to overtake coal as the world’s top power source by 2026. Solar, wind & batteries aren’t the future — they’re the system now. Fossil fuels are flatlining while clean power goes exponential. #BESS #Lithium #EnergyTransition

Another new storage record in ERCOT 🔋⚡️ Last Sunday, storage delivered 15% of grid power at 6:40pm, more than coal did at the same time. Expanding grid storage is taking advantage of solar resources and will make gas run more efficiently.

German non-#RenewableEnergy power generation during the past 75 years (#nuclear / lignite / #coal / #gas) Last year #Germany produced just 160 TWh of electricity from #fossilfuel sources. The last time the number was that low was 1961.

Lithium is NOT scarce. Let me explain it once again. I agree that we should make cities better by using less cars, but the claim that we cannot replace combustion cars with EVs due to lithium is untrue @haugejostein. E.g. the IEA is only warning scaling up is needed.
Lithium is one of the most vital metals for the green transition. But do we have enough lithium to sustain growth in clean energy production? Several mineral, energy, and research organisations expect global demand for lithium to outstrip global supply around 2030, based on

Jeromy Farkas wins the closest ever Calgary mayoral race. 91, 065 (26.1%) compared to Sonya Sharpe's 90, 480 (25.9%). A gap of 585 votes (0.2%). An incredible comeback (politically and personally) for the kid from Dover after his loss to Gondek in 2021.

Tonight's @CBCCalgary mayoralty debate may be the last big opportunity for Calgary voters to make up their minds. Not only does our recent polling show a large number of undecided voters (34%), it also shows 30% are still considering more than one candidate. #yyc

The grid is transitioning from a fragile fossil grid to a resilient renewable grid. Some people don't want to understand this and confuse their lack of understanding with wisdom. Let me explain once again what @Bjoern_Peters and many others don't understand. 🧵
Again confirmation that the Ibero-blackout was caused by a lack of spinning masses. In other words, PV and Wind are poison to grid stability and need to be contained under certain threshold levels, @AukeHoekstra. The symptom of frequency oscillations were clear enough to say so.

New 1 MWh sodium battery in Switzerland. This technology is currently more expensive than LFP (lithium iron phosphate) but will become ridiculously cheap because it uses abundant cheap battery materials. They are ideal for stationary batteries. https://t.co/xl6nh88cSS
