Wow... From Nov 1st @nature is publishing reviewer reports and author responses for ALL research articles. Do you think it's a good step? #OpenScience

My most recent experiment in which we pay referees at a medical journal is featured in Nature. Expensive with only modest impact; it’s unlikely to fix the referees shortage. But, that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t do it.

Two journals tried paying peer reviewers and found increased acceptance, earlier reports, and no change in quality. WHAT A SURPRISE!

Even if schools are not themselves major vectors, there are places which need a more full lockdown like, right now. How have we let bars and indoor dining be open and are not focused on schools? Where are the resources? I cannot see an end, or solutions. I'm sad. (2/2)

He messes up the joke because he is basically saying “you only think that because you, unlike me, are a white woman.” Or, it could be suggesting that the rest of America is abandoning white women to carry out the fight on their own. I doubt either is his point.

Loan Ranger says to Tonto, “We’re in trouble. Probably wont make it.” Tonto replies “What do you mean ‘we’, white man?” (or ‘Kemo Sabe’ or ‘pale face’). It’s racist, as some argue, if playing on stereotype that Native Americans are loyal only when convenient.

I keep checking twitter to see if @paulkrugman has apologized to @asymmetricinfo yet for the jumbled use of a 75 year old joke that is perhaps both racist and sexist... It goes like this: Lone Ranger and Tonto find themselves surrounded by dozens of Native American warriors
What do you mean "we", white woman? Seriously, "America" hasn't given up on fighting Covid-19; Cuomo's NY, Murphy's NJ, Whitmer's MI haven't given up. It's *Republicans* who have given up.

Mass support for Trump in 2016 was in spite of not because of his racism. They wanted to drain the swamp & mix things up. But he doubled down on racism as it went out of style & he brought corruption to new level. Wonder why only 6200 showed up in Tulsa?
