I regret not kissing the ground every day I woke up prior to PSSD. I regret not cherishing scrubbing my skin in the shower, something I cannot feel anymore. I yearn for a normal life. If you don’t have PSSD, youre truly blessed. Life on the other side of the fence is excruciating

It’s this low IQ thinking that is the issue. “Citalopram doesn’t work, try Lexapro. Lexapro doesn’t work, try Zoloft. Zoloft doesn’t work try—“ gtfo. This isn’t a pick-and-mix, these medications are potent.

Can any psychiatrist explain the underlying mechanisms of any of the following induced by SSRIs: - genital numbness - anorgasmia - anhedonia - brain zaps - emotional blunting - ED or lubrication difficulties Just a simple, this happens due to XYZ. Anyone? Very simple questions

Normal people can learn a lot from PSSD sufferers. We’re essentially stripped of the human experience. So when we say be appreciative of the simple things like touch, being able to feel both physically and mentally. Trust me, if you lose it, you lose the very essence of life.

For some reason, people tend to think PSSD is the preferred option over death. I’d argue that it’s in fact worse since u are forced to be dead, yet still breathing and endure that torture day in, day out. That puts it into perspective of the type of balls u need to survive PSSD.

Countless symptoms induced by SSRIs. However, if you ask about why they happen and what the underlying mechanisms are (even the most common ones), they have absolutely no idea. What are brain zaps caused by? ED? profuse night sweats? let alone genital numbness.

I used to get erections so often and so full, it felt like priapism every time. Now, after Citalopram, erections are impossible, as is penetrable sex. I’m only 27. Thank you SSRI.

@ChrisPalmerMD This is exactly how PSSD makes me feel, I used to think suicide was silly and selfish. Now I understand that it's some peoples only way out and for PSSD, it's currently the only way to get out of this mess.

@BStulberg I took Citalopram for non MH related issues and it’s compeltley ruined my health and sexual functioning even 4 years post cessation. You think you know about SSRIs but you clearly don’t. Look at your comment section, if people could go back, no one would take them.

Thought I’d test out whether the inability to get drunk due to PSSD statement was true, it is. 5 Jamesons down and absolutely nothing, if anything I feel tired. @wdpsychiatry

Person1: nuts are great! Person2: I’m allergic to nuts Person 1: Nonsense, I’ve been eating them all my life. Person2: No really, I could die from it. Person1: You’re fear mongering and pushing your own agenda. Nuts are perfectly safe, 100’s of millions of people eat them! 😡

People, like Tyler Black, are, seemingly, opposed to adverse event reporting systems. Tyler Black is a child & adolescent psychiatrist and an assistant clinical professor at the University of British Columbia. Don't be like Tyler Black.
