To be fair, there are not many developers with 3000 sqm of lettable office space and attendant amenities in this small city of ours. Ask KnightFrank or check the bids list. So just by the nature of the kind/size of projects he develops, Sudhir will always be a strong contender.
When I wrote this, someone told me the URA office was constructed to accommodate maximum 1200 people. Right now, the people seating at that office is over 2,000 people. Thanks to recent recruitment drives. So it made sense to get another space. Why Sudhir always? 🤔

We can only fault them for not planning ahead. Coz it's unrealistic to expect everyone to sit at that tower, when they've been recruiting thousands every year, to drive compliance & grow collections. For me the point shd be to keep their admin costs below 2% of collections.
Back to fragmentation. The decision to build the Nakawa Tower was framed as a long-term investment to consolidate staff and improve service delivery.

What hurts me is that he takes on serious public projects and ruins them with that unimaginative mind of his, just because he's connected. We had a chance to do a marvellous design of the heart institute. Instead, we're building something that's like a shopping mall in Arua park.

We are getting a Fuel Station ( complete with a KFC drive through) on Mawanda Road, smack in the middle of multi-storeyed residential and office buildings. 🤦🤦

We need to talk about the role of consultants in delayed projects. Road contract signed in July but up to now, no working drawings, no controls, no benchmarks levels for drainage works, nothing. And this happens a lot. Some consultants need to be sanctioned & blacklisted even. 🚮

The dream is coming along nicely. Kampala's first Hilton is branding. By 3rd Quarter 2026, TWED will have made all 257 rooms available to you. Saw a mock-up today and I can say, we shall be graduating as a city to the big boys league @PathyKlinn @shaaka777 @Samwyri
When TWED Heights Development went to the market to build the TWED Heights Hilton, Nakasero, they had two immediate problems; they needed Class 45 concrete and needed a 90-meter tall crane. The C45 concrete was quoted at $450 per cubic meter. The crane would go for $15k a month!

May I remind you that back in April, UGX 2.11 trillion was released to the same ministry? Have you seen any significant movement on a project near you?
1.7 trillion for @MoWT_Uganda. That's around $493 million over the next 3 months. @PathyKlinn should we expect a real estate boom, again, as contractors and sub-contractors get their certificates honoured? Is this back pay for the last 40 months of misery? Any new projects?

All I know is that if these developments are cleared to proceed, we better plan to build a bridge at Kitubulu. Forget the previous cut offs due to rising water levels from the lake. The water won't be receding this time round.
Ugandans can never have anything nice! That beautiful forest just after the lake as you enter Entebbe, is soon going to be some ugly mall and office complex! 🤦🏾

Go to the website of those developers and scroll through their projects/portfolio. You will find some interesting things...and pointers.
Well inspired @SpireJim. “Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter” - Dr. MLK Jr. What does Article 237(2)(b) of the Constitution mean today? @nemaug @NFAUG #Kitubulu

Of all renewables, wind is the biggest scam. The steel, the concrete, the equipment, the fuel, the carbon footprint of putting up just one windmill. It's insanity to even consider it "renewable".
“Green” energy is knocking down forests, destroying biodiversity, to build wind farms. 🤷🏿 @KathrynPorter26

I love greenfield projects. In about 12 months, something magnificent will have emerged out of this forest. We shall strive as much as possible to preserve as many trees as we can. And we'll definitely plant more.
