Uganda’s National Anti-Wildlife Crime Coordination Task Force, with support from UNODC & funding from the EU, convened its quarterly meeting to discuss ongoing efforts to combat wildlife and forest crime. Members urged broad participation in protecting 🇺🇬’s vital biodiversity.

Together with key partners, we reviewed progress, shared intelligence, & strengthened strategies to protect Uganda’s rich biodiversity. Collaborative action is key to ensuring our forests & wildlife are preserved for future generations.

The Director engaged with field teams, reviewed implementation reports, and toured restoration sites to gain firsthand insight into the impact and challenges of the initiative.

Uganda loses USD 500 million annually in illicit financial flows. UNODC 🇺🇬 is working with law enforcement partners under the 🇪🇺-🇺🇬 Forest Programme to strengthen financial investigations on forest crimes. Partners will undergo a training of trainers course in the next months.
