Ohio ADs email from OHSAA just came across the wire! Huge news in it, regarding eligibility!
"All students entering grades 7-12 will be eligible for 2020 fall sports insofar as academic eligibility is concerned"
This is worth a listen.
While assessing his team following an 88-80 loss to Notre Dame,

head coach Matt Painter shares some advice to high school players looking to compete in college:
"You have to get over yourself."
It is our understanding that Clyde HS Athletic Director, Ryan Greenslade, and the Clyde Transportation Director took busses to the scene of a 50+ vehicle crash on the Ohio Turnpike to rescue stranded motorists in -28 degree wind chill temperatures. Some heroes don’t wear capes.
Three things from today:
1. S/O to ADs and Admins who made Be the Light happen, small gesture, but seems widely appreciated.
2. Awesome to see so many communities blessed with awesome facilities!
3. Heartbroken for our students and student-athletes, a historical day in history
Don’t do this...Jerry was transparent to all ADs and we owe it to him to hear from him personally not conjecture and guesses on social media. He doesn’t deserve that.
Incredible to see the outporing of support for new
@OHSAASports
Executive Director
@Jerry_Snodgrass
! He has been an unbelievable support to ADs, coaches, and athletes during his time at the OHSAA. Looking forward to the direction of the OHSAA under his leadership.
As high school ADs we must work hand in hand with local newspapers to provide a community resource for fans and another educational tool for our athletes! Please promote writers work in a way it helps get the word out and allows for the proper credit to writer/institution!
S/O to all of the coaches in the state putting in a ton of hardwork the past couple weeks hosting Youth Camps! Great to see camps back this summer! Many coaches don’t make a dime hosting camps at the HS level, money goes back into the program!
"Behind the scenes" folks that help make interscholastic athletics happen! We all have a maintenance or custodian individual that helps make things run everyday!
Thanks to our custodians for clearing the park long lots early this morning.
Hosting Ben Logan, Troy, and Wapakoneta in a JH wrestling Quad in the HS GYM at 10am.
Please keep the Powers family in your thoughts and prayers! Paul is not only a leader of one of the top athletic department's in the state, but he is also a leader amongst Ohio ADs! Thinking of you of you Paul, get better soon!
@auroraathletics
It's been a shaky start to 2021 as my husband suffered a stroke yesterday. I have faith he will be fine and I am so overwhelmed by my wonderful Tiger family in their support. This morning, I received these two amazing notes from two of our Tigers. Thanks so much! I 💙 U!
To every Athletic Administrator managing a scheduling, personnel, academic support, covid, sports information, vaccination, medical, finance, facilities, video production, event management and student affairs offices all rolled into one Athletics office, we salute you. 👊
Huge news...reminder we will need to train 100's of people on how to run the shot clock, so if you comment about Ohio needing this, take a number, I will put you in touch with a local AD...they probably need you to run the scoreboard in the meantime😂
.
@NFHS_Org
: Beginning with the 2022-23 season, a 35-second shot clock will be permitted in high school basketball games by state association adoption. A proposal for a national rule mandating a shot clock was not approved.
Grinding: Stopped by campus tonight and not a soul to be seen…..except Moeller Head Football Coach Mark Elder. The head signal caller reviewing game film in the hopes of leading his Crusaders to an upset win this Friday vs Lakota West in the Regional Final.

Ohio Department Health Memo now circulating that schools are now to be closed to students K-12 until June 30th. Could be something Governor
@MikeDeWine
addresses today. Could again limit fall sports summer activities and graduation ceremonies...
New logos = absolute 🔥
Huge thank you to

ADs and coaches - give a S/O to your local newspapers, journalists and media outlets! Spread the positivity of all of the hardwork begin done especially during crazy COVID times!
As high school ADs we must work hand in hand with local newspapers to provide a community resource for fans and another educational tool for our athletes! Please promote writers work in a way it helps get the word out and allows for the proper credit to writer/institution!
This article should serve as a reality check for any parent sitting in the stands right now and speaking their mind about a coach! Understandable that some coaches may not be great fit, I get it...But reality is that it's getting harder and harder to find coaches at all levels!
High School Sports in 2019 is evolving at a high rate, regardless of how you feel about refs or replay.
@Jerry_Snodgrass
is a guy that will continue to work every day to put appropriate systems in place to make the OHSAA great (1/2)
We would like to thank our athletic director Rick Guimond for his services over the past 3 years with us. We wish him a happy retirement!!

@OHSAASports
Ohio ADs, have you decided on an official return date for your athletes? Today is the day, but a lot of schools seem to be leaning towards June 1 or June 8

An OHSAA source is unaware of any plans to make an announcement today, despite an email that circulated Thursday night between NEO ADs expecting one. Says it did not come from the OHSAA office. It appears schools are OK to begin practice, if they choose.
Thank you Tiger Nation for your support over the past 3 years while I was the AD at Central. Once a Tiger, Always a Tiger. All further tweets from this account will be from Central’s new AD, Eric Music. Go Tigers!

Coaching is hard. 🧵 Just some general thoughts looking at the list of girls' basketball rosters for the News-Herald coverage area. There are 28 different teams listed...
- The coaches with the longest tenure at their respective schools are in their 14th season (it's my 12th)
The third panelist you can hear from live on Tuesday is Brandon Spaeth, Asst. A.D. at Roger Bacon H.S. in Cincinnati. Some of Spaeth's major areas of focus are content creation, social media and sponsorships in interscholastic athletics.

I know he will be willing to work with ADs and the state/local boards to work through challenges.Impress upon your local AD changes you desire, but also be part of the change you wish (coach, ref, run a scoreboard, volunteer time in the concession).
😡
I despise these tweets as much as you do - & I turned off @'s because I'm done with cynicism on this
But if schools are repeatedly guilty of copying/pasting stories, lifting pictures, etc after being asked not to, then clearly they don't value our work
Congratulations to the May 2021 Sports Under 40 honoree, Joey Day! Recognized for demonstrating strong leadership and having a substantial impact in the sports industry.

My daughter's club soccer director, supervises every age group team, told them no OHSAA soccer this fall. Club teams can practice, but no contact, no more than 10 people, including coaches. If mom drives, sits in car with windows up, 50 yards away, she counts as 1 of 10.

Very interesting take from Springfield coach following state championship loss to St. Ed's...
Just for transparency sake: one of the best quarterbacks in the state transferred in the spring to Springfield.
Coach Douglass would like two champions, public/private...
Thoughts?
Probability of competing in college. Not sharing to squash dreams. I hope kids strive to be in these percentages. Sharing because youth and HS sports leaders/coaches need to focus more on mental/character development than physical.
Mission: Prepare kids for life through sport!
Congrats to Bill Stewart, approved as new AD at Hamilton High School for the 20-21 school year.
Welcome Back to

Best of luck to Tyler Belew in his new role as Asst Principal- job well done, T!
Man, people complain about everything...it's crazy to see how much people complain about the literally every aspect of everything, like their opinion (or threat of leaving) is going to change things. Way to keep up with them
@Jerry_Snodgrass
CHECK THIS PLACE OUT! They've turned the old Zink warehouse in to a multi-purpose athletic facility in Port Clinton. It's 26,000 square feet with a total cost of $1.2 million.
The PC athletic boosters contributed $400,000. The Zink family donated a big chunk as well.
