HS Baseball Rules Changes Announced
Electronic Communication Devices from Dugout to Catchers to be Permitted in High School Baseball
Devices between a coach and a team’s catcher for calling pitches will be permitted beginning in 2024.

Rules were also adjusted to only use the pivot foot to determine whether a pitcher is delivering a pitch from the wind-up or set position.

Beginning next year, basketball teams will shoot two free throws for common fouls when in the “bonus.”
A recent survey of high school athletes suggests that the cancellation of youth sports because of the COVID-19 pandemic has taken a significant toll on the mental health & wellbeing of adolescents. NFHS SMAC member Tim McGuine discusses the results.

Changes in Pitching Delivery Requirements Approved in HS Softball
Pitchers will be allowed to disengage both feet from the playing surface if the pivot foot is not replanted prior to the delivery of the pitch.
