The Equality impact assessment for assisted dying is 21 pages and was published late. The vaping bill one is about 273

Amazing day listening to youth workers and parents about the challenges young people in Lambeth are facing. Young people for whom the combo of youthworker + parent support has been life changing against a background of low confidence and limited opportunity. #youthwork

One thing I have learnt from some years in politics, victory or defeat are rarely final. So you keep on fighting.

I’m genuinely shocked that this incredibly ill thought law has succeeded. When I worked in a hospice, we had to fundraise approximately £10,000 a day to keep it fully functioning. To see this bill succeed before palliative care is fully funded and available is almost

It is heartbreaking seeing how many people feel vulnerable after the #assistedsuicide vote. Disabled people wondering what this means for how they will be seen, valued and supported (support is already nearly zero). People who work in palliative care scared for their patients…

We have raised concerns about existing deficiencies in the Terminally Ill Adults (End of Life) Bill. We believe the bill in its current form lacks adequate protections for patients and professionals. Full statement: https://t.co/hbGsOgBdrj

So Elon goes "Kill the Bill!" and Trump goes "Elon has TDS!" so Elon goes "I'm the reason Trump won!" so Trump goes "we waste billions on Elon!" so Elon goes "Epstein!" and a flunkie goes "Deport!" and Elon goes "Impeach!" And THAT'S why women are too emotional to be President.

Three really excellent letters in today's Times on the unworkability of the Terminally Ill Adults Bill. Increasingly the professionals who'll be responsible for administering it are speaking out against it. It would be reckless for MPs to vote in favour of it.

In all the talk about peace, minerals, and just letting Putin keep the land he’s occupying in Ukraine, where is the talk of what will happen to the Ukrainians in those places. Or of the Ukrainians who have been forcibly taken to Russia. What of the people?

I have spent a lot of time today thinking about safeguarding - how every project or policy for vulnerable people needs to ensure that it doesn’t inadvertently make them more vulnerable. Pushing through a bill that ignores rights and needs is so deeply wrong.
Another day in the Assisted Suicide bill committee. A series of amendments to make it safer were rejected. The committee voted down amendments to ensure doctors can’t suggest AS to patients - even to children. 1/

Today is International Day of Education — let’s not forget Afghanistan—the ONLY country in the world where girls education is banned. 1224 days since teenage girls were barred from school and 764 days since women were shut out of universities by Taliban. This injustice must end.

I ran @USAID health programs for the last 3 years. Trumps 90 day Stop Work Order on foreign assistance does serious damage to the world and the US. Examples:🧵

So #AssistedDying gets funded 100% while palliative care and social care have to beg for basic support?
Today the Commons will have 45 minutes to debate the money resolution for the assisted dying bill. The government has decided it will pay “any expenditure incurred under or by virtue of the Act by the Secretary of State” if the bill becomes law.
