My friend last week the day he turned 100.
My first FT job was writing Gene Shalit's daily NBC Radio commentary. And scripting his Today show interviews with people like Andy Warhol. Great gig, amazing boss. He just turned 100, healthy and chipper as ever. Huzzah! From a 2014 book foreword I wrote, my passage about him.
