How Senate Republicans finally said 'no' to Ingrassia

NEW: Paul Ingrassia has withdrawn from his confirmation hearing to lead the Office of Special Counsel after POLITICO's report of racist texts he made in a group chat with fellow Republicans.

Ingrassia’s attorney said no last-minute changes were made to the hotel reservations and denied wrongdoing.

In early October, I reported that he was investigated for his conduct with a lower-ranking female colleague. The probe focused on allegations that he had a female colleague’s hotel room canceled on a work trip, so the woman would have to stay in his room.
