/it's always the poor who get the beatings for not knowing Kannada/ Yes. I've seen migrant labourers speak in broken kannada/tamil when I ask privileged or the fancy IT people like, why don't you just try? Either I get a lame response or blame it on natives & language politics.

I was in a mindset that even if the IT buggers never even try to learn Kannada but their kids probably will grow like a Kannadiga because they are bought up in Bangalore. At least that's what I've seen in chennai or coimbatore. This is bad.
