I want to build a Britain where the colour of your skin is never a barrier to opportunity. Black History Month is a powerful celebration of the enduring contributions of Black British communities.
Britain belongs to all of us. Tonight, at Downing Street we welcomed Black Britons who shape our nation in law, business, sport, and culture, and I reflected on my own journey. We remember. We celebrate. We keep pushing forward.

I said we would stand up for renters. Weâre doing exactly that.   This Labour government is abolishing no fault evictions, ending rental bidding wars and introducing legal protections for tenants.   Promise made, promise delivered.

Hospital admissions related to knife assault for young people under-25 have reduced by 41% compared to when we were first set up by @SadiqKhan the @MayorofLondon. We have a long way to go but this progress highlights the importance of prevention and early intervention measures.

Too many people are living in dangerous, damp and mouldy homes. This must stop. Today Awaabâs law comes into force - social landlords must take urgent action to fix dangerous homes or face the full force of the law.

This Labour government is determined to drive a transformational and lasting change in the safety and quality of social housing. Awaabâs Law will empower social tenants to hold their landlords to account and I'm extremely proud that we are bringing it into force today.

Looks like Chris Philp doesnât even know what Robert Jenrick actually said. Reform and the Tories: two sides of the same coin.

Answer: There is no difference.
âRobert Jenrick spoke about white faces - whatâs the difference?â @lewis_goodall presses Tory MP Chris Philp on why he condemns Sarah Pochinâs remarks about black people in adverts as racist, but not Robert Jenrickâs on Birmingham.

The quiet bit is being said out loud and clear now. Wonder how she feels about seeing us in Parliament.
Sarah Pochin MP: âIt drives me mad seeing adverts full of black and Asian people.â Caller Stuart in London asks the Reform MP if her party will do anything about the 'representation of demographics in TV adverts'. @petercardwell | @SarahForRuncorn

Weâll bring local leaders together to form a Neighbourhood Board and engage the wider community so everyoneâs voice is heard. The councilâs enabling role is vital, but it is local residents in New Addington who will be in the driving seat.

Itâs not ministers, MPs or Croydon Council deciding how the ÂŁ20 million Pride in Place funding is spent - it's local people.
