We are long overdue reform of our SEND system. This week, I was glad to attend a roundtable with Outcomes First Group to discuss how we can make SEND provision is more inclusive, effective, and sustainable for the local authorities.

I'd like to extend a huge thank you to the Broxtowe constituents who came to speak to me in Parliament today about the impact climate change is having on our area and the actions we need to take to protect our environment.

I’m really pleased to see the Government is taking early years seriously, announcing a new Best Start Family Service this week. In order to break down barriers to opportunity, we must see dedicated outreach to more deprived areas so the support reaches those who need it most.

I was pleased to chair a productive meeting of the APPG for the Caribbean. Conversations included trade and economic relations between the UK and English speaking Caribbean.

30% of people in UK prisons are diagnosed with dyslexia, and likely many more who are undiagnosed. Today I raised this with the Justice Minister and asked how the Government supports dyslexic people in prison and after release to prevent reoffending.
