If you go in a restaurant or café in France , it’s quite common to see children dining and just get a smaller portion of whatever the adults are having. Why do “Children’s menus” in the U.K. often just consist of lots of unhealthy things , all served with beans and chips?
Metro saying Djokovic being held in a grotty prison hotel “with asylum seekers”. Oh so it’s ok for refugees to be held in such conditions but not famous sports stars who want to be treated differently ? And that my friends is a massive part of the problem 😡😉
Why are the BBC still showing programmes like escape to the sun , giving the impression you can still buy holiday homes or retire to Europe with no extra procedures ? Has anyone even told them FOM is abolished for Britons ?
Anyone else think Johnson referring to the Home Secretary as the “Pritster” makes him sound like a rather stupid overgrown schoolboy rather than someone supposedly in charge during a national crisis?
Well the next time someone in a “safe” seat says they can’t be arsed voting “because the Tories always win”, we can now demonstrate that it’s not true 😎😎😎
Has the PM really just said “people don’t ever get anything without hard work”? Public schools and top executive jobs (and the Lords) are stuffed full of people only there because they have wealthy Daddies with inherited wealth
Johnson reckons “he hasn’t got the authority” to set Government policy after September. Funny how he still has the authority to draw a full Prime Ministerial salary and allowances for July and August though 😡
Ffs I’ve just seen tweets saying “let’s pull down statues of Mohammed”. Good luck finding any you racist idiots. Islam doesn’t allow statues of people 😡😡
Does Anyone else shout “bog off” at the Tv when those moronic get ready for Brexit ads come on telling you you need a passport and insurance to travel in Europe? What a chuffin waste of money.
The ECHR has nothing whatsoever to do with the EU, other than happening to have its HQ in France. There are 47 member States , so 20 members aren’t currently in the EU either. None of the others are threatening to leave. Perhaps a Tory Brexiter can explain this to us ?
I see Johnson has just announced a billion quid for Ukraine. No indication as to where this extra money is coming from though. Strangely , the Tax Payers Alliance is very silent on this matter
Dear U.K. media , please note COP26 is a world summit. It’s not a Johnson summit or even a U.K. one and he isn’t in charge of it. He’s a delegate just like the other leaders. You’d think him and his wife were the only people there looking at some of the coverage.
Is it me or is that HSBC advert on TV saying “we are not an island we are something much bigger ” really an advert saying “bollox to Brexit” without actually saying so?
Ffs woman on Sky Tv just said “people in the court have money and don’t understand that ordinary people don’t have any money and it’s all given to immigrants”. What the hell is up with some of the British public ? 😡😡
Did Truss really just say “no one can predict economic problems” on Sky News? Well maybe not all of them , but many of us did exactly that when we opposed this stupid hard version of Brexit which is making things worse IMHO
I see Netherlands are saying tourists from the U.K. will need a test every 24 hours because they don’t recognise the NHS app as there’s no agreement with the U.K. so basically you can’t eat or drink inside , or visit venues. Another Brexit “win”buried inside the Express no doubt
Surely this is illegal ? The U.K. broadcasters very strict legal guidelines on this. Including a right of reply by the opposition parties. Especially if there is any kind of election approaching. It’s been like that for decades
“Tonight, an unelected Prime Minister will be allowed free rein to put out a lengthy Party Political Broadcast in a byelection week, with no oversight, challenge or counter.”
@grantshapps
So Einstein, how are are you going to make Sunday part of the working week without employing hundreds of extra staff? By the way, talking of rules dating back decades , why don’t you support electronic voting in Parliament ? Or allow someone to speak without wearing a tie ? 😎
@implausibleblog
Surely Sunak has to remove the Whipp. Not only is she espousing far right views in public, she is actually inviting an American fascist to get involved in British politics. And Braverman thinks ordinary people with banners are the problem ? 😡
To those insisting I only buy British food , I happen to like French cheese and olives washed down with a large Calvados. None of these are produced in the U.K. and you have no right to tell me what to eat any more than I can insist that you shop at Marks and chuffin Spencer’s
@grantshapps
There is good reason why driving hours are limited. Those “archaic rules” were introduced in 1919 after several bad crashes where a factor was drivers , guards and signalmen literally falling asleep at work because the railway companies expected staff to work very long hours
Anyone else think it’s ironic that the head of vote leave, who banged on about unelected politicians for years as part of his secretly funded Brexit campaign , is now given a place for life in the biggest unelected legislative chamber in the world outside China ?
@Scubeedo
Look at the tick boxes at the bottom too. Agreeing to be contacted by the Conservative party. Is it even legal to make a party political questionnaire look like a traffic survey? 😡😡
I love it that an idiot blocked me when he posted crap about the whole 1970s being a valid reason not to vote Labour now, just because I politely pointed out that the PM at the time of the big miners strike and power cuts in 1973 was Ted Heath 🤣🤣
@carryonkeith
I’m struggling to think of any other democratic country where the PM would be allowed to resign in disgrace then carry on in full pay for three months as if nothing untoward has happened
@grantshapps
Temporarily this temporary that. And we do more temporary things when we discover more shortages ad Infinitum. Why not just admit that Brexit was an almighty cock up?
What’s the point of Government enforcing quarantine if VIPs are given exemption for special events? Does the virus only attack certain income groups? It is it one rule for the very wealthy ?
Is there a good reason (apart from old farts saying it’s always been done like that) why voting in the House of Commons can’t be done electronically from your seat ? Or by secure password if you happen to be in , say, Dubai rather than wasting public money on flights? 🤣
@cirian75
@KTHopkins
Indeed. I’m guessing it was chosen by the Norwegians as it’s a gift from them. I doubt the Mayor chose it. And what has being Muslim got to do with it?
Ironically, despite 40 years of trying by the far right and hostile media, all these industries being adversely affected long term might eventually mean Brexit destroying itself from within and the U.K. becoming the most pro EU country ever 😊😊
@swillis100
@SuellaBraverman
And stop bleating about the courts pointing out illegal acts by the Government. Moreover , a court that has British representation so which is no more “foreign” than the United Nations or NATO. Do you object to them too?
Michael Gove on Tv saying the only answer to Thames Water’s huge financial problems is for Management to “take a look at themselves”. Erm no , the only proper answer is Nationalisation
@AndyGJBurge
@LBC
@LozzaFox
Sounds a Bit like Johnson , apparently using family connections and wealth to make himself much more important than perhaps he should have been
@ChrisWhidz
@MrMKimber
Yes. That was a running joke in the 1970s too. The media said no one would notice if civil servants went on strike. One day they did go on strike. The country ground to a halt very quickly when the pillocks who didn’t really know what they did very quickly did notice
Ffs the Torygraph has now decided it’s “woke” to recite the Lords Prayer in anything but English , despite the fact that the Archbishops of Canterbury spent the first 1500 years or so when Christianity came to England holding masses in chuffin Latin 🤣🤣
@dave43law
@Nigel_Farage
Excellent news. 607 potential applicants to fill the thousands of vacancies we have in the U.K. Especially if some are qualified nurses , engineers etc
@KateBatt1
@nannycrin
I still can’t see how there are still loads of people who don’t appear to know this fact though. It’s not exactly a secret. Passport stamping on entering Schengen isn’t done to cause huge queues and punish us for leaving the U.K. 🙄
@LanceForman
@Tristan_Palmer
You voted to end Freedom of Movement. You either want it or you don’t want it. It has to be reciprocal though and yes that includes people from Poland , France , Spain etc too. You can’t just have it for U.K. passport holders
@straffegast
@ukiswitheu
No. But some people cheering and clapping when Patel removed freedom of movement assumed it only applied to brown people on little boats
@IsabelOakeshott
Well that’s funny because absolutely none of the electorate voted for the current Government based on what was in the last Tory manifesto.
@AndyGJBurge
Ironically the East End of London and surrounding docks have been full of immigrants arriving by boat for Centuries. Many of them fleeing persecution and often with no or dodgy documents
@georgermburn
@VicVA2
Either way Lisbon and Dublin treaties don’t apply now. I’m amazed how many Brexiters don’t want foreign interference but quote EU law on immigration
@RobDotHutton
@David8Phillips
To be honest , I didn’t like Mrs May as PM but she’s always so neatly dressed I can’t imagine even a crisp packet being out of place in her home 🤣🤣
@dave43law
@NadineDorries
@trussliz
Indeed. And if the Duchess of Cornwall had appeared on a Royal Tour of India wearing a dress she’d just bought from Lidl I imagine they’d be wetting themselves with indignation. Anyway we are sick of our so called leader looking like a sack of King Edwards when he represents us
Another ill informed comment from Nick Ferrari. Why do TfL run empty buses? Erm that’s because any bus or train service picks up and drops off passengers en route. No bus is full end to end. It’s not a giant taxi. It’s amazing that people don’t understand how timetables work
@cuddy271
I can’t say I have much sympathy tbh , especially those who thought it Brexit wouldn’t affect them or have been living in little immigrant bubbles for years, refusing to learn Spanish and insisting it’s great there”because everyone speaks English”
@vicderbyshire
It’s not really “in the run up” unless you think Christmas starts in early December. Mick Lynch has made it perfectly clear on Tv today that the strikes are avoiding the festive period
@brexit_sham
@SpanishDan1
@RespectIsVital
Indeed. Most of the right wing media originally reported this “spare cottage” as if it was normal to have such things in your garden , yet it’s not long ago they were clapping and cheering when Council tenants were told they didn’t need spare rooms let alone whole houses
@BorisJohnson_MP
I know a couple of older people who voted Tory because they found Johnson “an amusing breath of fresh air” and were taken in by his bumbling clown persona. I doubt they were the only ones
Loads of right wing idiots blaming Sadiq Khan for a stabbing in London as if he did it personally , many making racist comments. Not one of them asking where the Home Secretary has disappeared to 😡😡
@AndrewBrookLdn
@ChadThomasUK
Bearing in mind it was broadcast all day, seemingly on every channel, does that statistic include anyone who merely switched the Telly on ? 🤣🤣
@pmavgaz1
Why not stop there ? Why not ban Catholics , Jews, Hindus etc ? Just have white men who are Protestants making laws like we used to in Elizabethan times? Why not ban them from voting too? Cupid stunt. 😡
@barry_halverson
@Mike_Fabricant
Or you could just instruct the Treasury / DfT to stop secretly interfering and blocking deals between railway Management and unions. Government could easily solve this dispute. They are choosing not to.
@hettiewagtail
@graham669
Oh ok. On that basis Junior Ministers are “Ministers in training” so should have reduced salaries until they pass exams to qualify for a cabinet role 😊😊
Why the hell has the U.K. minister left COP28 to go and vote in the Commons ? We really are led by prize pillocks who think immigration is more important than saving the planet 😡😡
Anyone else amazed that after they got what wanted and we left the right wing press are still obsessed with what the EU are doing? And they still can’t tell us a benefit of Brexit. No not vaccines as they weren’t a factor during the referendum
@TaniaDoney
@LiliaPrelevic
Please don’t assume that everyone here is xenophobic or racist. Of course it exists as it does in many countries but tbh this assumption that we are all racists who voted Tory or wanted Brexit is depressing for those of us aren’t any of those things who still live here.
@Bren4Bassetlaw
Cool. Abolish private schools then. Like Finland did years ago. You’d soon see wealthy parents screaming and shouting for investment in education if they were made to send their kids to state schools
@alexisconran
Plus half the “Questions” are taken up by sycophantic Tory back benchers saying something like “does the PM agree with my constituents that the Government funded station car park at much waiting in the marsh is a splendid example of his generous magnanimity?”
@organicsi
Yes. And also means they are used to dining out as they grow up, rather than many British places who just ban kids because they assume that all children will be running riot
@benhabib6
Utter crap. You do know that inward passport checks in Calais are done by the British don’t you ? And yes they do take much longer because every single one has to be scanned and stamped. In both directions. You really have no clue because I suspect you get priority if travelling
@pdfleet
Bit cheeky complaining about local roads, which are the responsibility of a county council which has been Conservative for decades. Never mind having a plan. Why did they allow them to deteriorate in the first place ?
@Daily_Express
Well what the hell did you expect? This is EXACTLY the Brexit you and your readers wanted. You were warned. You screamed “Project Fear”. You won. Bloody well get over it 😡😡
@swanage123
Why should anyone be in that position though as if it’s normal not to be able to afford to eat lunch in a café? Can we stop all this chuffin “stop having nice things” attitude ?
@darrengrimes_
@RishiSunak
Bollox. It was one glorified opinion poll. In a proper democracy , like Switzerland for instance , voters are allowed to change their minds, especially if evidence shows that the original result was flawed for some reason. One person one vote just once isn’t democracy.
Is it just me ? Darts champion Luke Littler definitely doesn’t look like he’s 16. Yet some time ago many of the same media rightly congratulating his win were saying that child migrants (who often look much younger than him) arriving from France on boats “couldn’t possibly be 16”
@BettinaSRoss1
Dennis Skinner once got told off for calling half the party opposite crooks. He then said ok then half the party opposite aren’t crooks 🤣🤣🤣
@AlanUrdaibay
@cuddy271
@helenmcollins1
Not only that. Many can’t afford to buy houses in England now because prices have risen since they sold U.K. and left. So they’ll all be waving their pension books and demanding council accommodation no doubt
No 10. Spokesman says it’s “in the best interest of taxpayers.” What a load of crap. Downing St is closer to St Pancras than the heliport and there’s little or mo time saving
Nice press picture of Carrie Johnson walking along a seemingly deserted beach in Cornwall today. Whilst 2 million visitors who were encouraged to holiday in the U.K. are charged double and crammed into a small bay the other side of a chuffin big security fence 🤣🤣
@dave43law
@Arron_banks
Good. Hopefully them leaving means the empty houses and flats they buy as “investments”
but which they never live in can be somehow used to help solve the housing shortage
@Mottsy4remain
@joewellscomic
That will be the next target. Mountain Rescue forced to ask for passports just in case any refugees have gone for a hike in the chuffin Cairngorms
@IsabelOakeshott
How is it captivity ? Why the heck are you terrified of someone wearing a face mask ? Let’s hope you don’t bump into any Japanese tourists this summer. 🤣
Now that Mr Farage is still apparently not satisfied will he now set up yet another new political party to campaign against what he’s campaigned for for the last 40 years? 🙄
@EssexPR
Some people will die because of staff shortages and general lack of investment in public services for a decade. How come you never mentioned that ?
