Economic development professional, charity trustee, GB ultramarathon runner, Shrewsbury ('til I die) and still writing that sitcom. Views very much my own.

Whichever party they're working for, these highfalutin political strategists appear to be so far up their own fundament that they can't see what's going on in the world outside. And appear to care even less.

And now Prince Andrew's banner, bearing his coat of arms, has been removed from St George's Chapel at Windsor Castle. Must his suffering go on...?

Hats off to @SouthShieldsFC for the best ticket-buying experience I can remember. Easy, quick and charging away fans a fair price. #salop #FACup

The social science of gender & sexuality enjoyed 30 new peer-reviewed journals on its topics in 30 years. But quality suffers when supply increases dramatically (see Ioannidis 2005). My account of what happened when one narrative looked different from the many.

There’s a very good reason why wishing somebody ‘Merry Christmas’ should be banned. It’s October.

Apparently, all the tickets and merch were sold by Farage’s girlfriend, so he didn’t think they had to pay any tax.
Amazing story in The Times. Reform UK failed to pay VAT to HMRC on its sales (tickets, merchandise). About £400k in all. Not tax avoidance. Not tax evasion. They just didn't realise when you sell stuff you have to charge VAT.

Tax increases are on the way. If you voted for Brexit, please do not complain; it was an inevitable consequence.

I am in Chester changing trains. I have two options: pop down to Shrewsbury to watch our renaissance continue on Saturday (maybe) or go to Holyhead in advance of an attempt to run to Cardiff. On balance, the latter is likely to be less painful.

How patriotic is it to live in Spain, courtesy of an Irish passport, whilst accepting money from super rich Americans?

Of course, if you can't get the Palestinians out by force, you can always re-develop and price them out.
