NS didn’t delete any WhatsApp messages. Nor use WhatsApp. Neither did ScotGov. The ‘deleted messages’ were Twitter DMs she exchanged with Devi Shridar May-Dec 2020, but has retrieved &sent to the enquiry. Devi confirmed this in evidence. Please repost as media lies or is inept!
Jack is snubbing the covid enquiry! How can this be tolerated? Where is the outrage? He failed to give evidence in August, which was extended to October. Failed to show in October and has just cancelled today’s session in Edinburgh. Pl repost!
Ok folks keep retweeting this. Why should we be ok to fund £49k of expenses for Stephen Kerr’s DELIBERATELY billing us for this but not Matheson’s iPad?
Should unelected list MSP Stephen Kerr be held to account.
Expenses'.
£6,584 for breakfasts.
£11.859 for Lunches &
£28.749 for Evening Meals, which included £2.470 for Fine Wines.

It took Victoria Derbyshire on Newsnight last night to call out the ridiculous affair of Matheson’s iPad, apologising to viewers for having to cover something so petty, after the previous item on Gaza, ‘as it’s in the news’. Why was nobody available from the SG to say the same?
If you’re in Scotland and you vote Labour next GE you are voting for subservience. No good can come of voting Labour in Scotland. If you have any backbone vote SNP. Vote liberty!
Hearing that the gas lobby is putting out misinformation that heat pumps don’t work in cold countries like Scotland! In Norway we have had heat pumps since the 1990s and they work just fine!
Good to see our local MSP

at todays Govanhill Festival.
Looking forward to the next interview by our community reporters - in The Community Newsroom soon.
The public perception is that the media is unfairly hounding NS and Jason Leitch. Media bias is becoming increasingly evident to ordinary people, even to the pensioners I was speaking with on Monday.
Took part in the Norwegian independence day march along the High Street and down the Mound today. Joyful celebration of Norway’s liberation. So glad one of my homelands is free. Band played national anthem then Scots Wha’ Hae. Brought tears to my eyes. When will we be free?🇳🇴🏴
Much is being made of crisis in NHS. A friend suffered a pulmonary embolism on New Year’s Day. After some calls he was given an appt. at Forth Valley Hospital at 8pm, x-rayed and treated within 2hrs. SNHS appears to be doing far better than the horror stories in England & Wales.
The Claim of Right (1689) - a condition of holding the Crown of Scotland - complained of ‘arbitrary, despotick law’ as contrary to the laws of Scotland. If Truss introduces a different level for indyref2 than Brexit, there are constitutional grounds for dissolving the union.
We should be completely clear about the events of the last few days. The British establishment could not destroy the SNP at the polls. So they are destroying us through the media and a deliberately protracted overblown police and legal action.
The mortality rate was appreciably lower in Scotland during the pandemic than in England or NI. This emerged in scientific evidence given to the Covid Inquiry. Yet the witch hunt of NS &key figures continues as the UK state media continues its onslaught to reverse the narrative.
Surely there must be some action we can take against this man for putting out ‘misinformation’? His meddling is damaging. It’s not just words and spin - he’s causing actual financial damage.
We are happy to welcome you all back to our newly refurbished Redcoat Café ☕🍰
If you are visiting us over the weekend, pop in for a warm beverage or even a tasty slice of cake 😋
I get that folk might have issues about voting SNP given that we have been under a media onslaught of smears for nearly two years. But voting Labour is a vote agst Scotland and independence and will get us nowhere. Scotland was not even mentioned in Lab manifesto.
The Scottish Covid Bereaved (Amer Anwar’s firm) claim that ‘the actions of Nicola Sturgeon, Liz Lloyd, Jason Leitch, John Swinney and others have robbed the bereaved of those contemporaneous messages, and with them answers to questions’ yet Alister Jack’s deleted messages do not?
Just a reminder that Alistair Jack has yet to give evidence to the Covid Enquiry, having declined to appear three times now; last week; August and October 2023. Transparency and accountability?
Statement re UK Covid Inquiry:
I do not intend to give a running commentary on the ongoing Inquiry. Instead, out of respect to all those impacted by the pandemic, I will answer questions directly and openly when I give evidence at the end of this month
However, in light of…
It really angers me that ignorant English politicians like Rayner spout lies like this about the SG’s record on industrial relations and get away with it because of a press that spouts their nonsense unchallenged. As well as NHS workers there were also the rail workers.
I would remind Angela Rayner that we have engaged constructively with trade unions. That is why we haven't had any NHS strikes in Scotland, in stark comparison to Labour-run Wales.
Will Labour commit to full devolution of employment law should they form the next government?
More on Redcoat Cafe. Hanoverian troops burned down Linlithgow Palace in 1746 as a parting gesture of cultural vandalism after the Battle of Falkirk.
‘Here’s fareweel tae a’ yer ancient Scottish fame!’
Historic Environment Scotland merely records, ‘It was damaged in a fire’.
Flynn is showing more moral and strategic leadership than the entire Westminster establishment. The world is changing and they are on the wrong side of history.

We cannot afford to miss the opportunity to deliver a ceasefire in Gaza.
The Prime Minister’s failure to confirm that he would vote in favour of a ceasefire at the United Nations should worry us all.

Very disappointed to hear of the freeports announcement today which SNP conference voted emphatically AGAINST in 2021. I cannot see how the Scottish Government will be able to enforce green policies or fair wages. This is ceding control, not gaining control.
A pleasure joining our Catholic community for midnight mass last night.

I hope Santa has been good to you all. Have a lovely day whatever you're doing. Merry Christmas to all.
After watching the Covid Enquiry interrogation of NS & Devi Shridar &the twisted media coverage of it, I’m minded to ask: who’d be a politician or public servant these days if all you get is grief, death threats &character assassination in return for yr selfless dedication?

Gordon Brown finally acknowledges the forces holding the union together are weaker than those ‘pulling it apart’. There is no longer any reason for the union. The only reasons for the union - the British Empire and fear of French invasion - have long gone. Time to leave.

Scottish Labour MP Ian Murray backs Keir Starmer's two child benefit cap stance. "We can't afford having policies that aren't fully costed."

In all the reactions to our FM’s resignation what stands out is how small and mediocre are the nonentities who have made her life so difficult over the years and who have absolutely NOTHING to offer Scotland. A giant among pygmies. A true patriot, the best. Proud to stand by you!
Clearly the Labour Gala in Glasgow was going to be used in PR before Starmer was accosted on the train.
500 suits paying handsomely for tables with ice buckets of wine. Sarwar trailing round behind Starmer like a sad obedient puppy.
Yes I use it in Norway too. Every store has one. You put your returns in and it prints you out a ticket for the value which you use in the store. An added bonus is that you don’t see bottle trash lying about. I’m sick of these whining unionists objecting on principle.
I have considerable experience on several occasions using the deposit return scheme in Norway. It is nothing short of wonderful, and they have used it for a number of years now.
Unionists are against it working - don’t let them win.

Appalling stuff from Jack. Denies that SG sought an exemption from Internal Market Act last year for bottle return scheme. Will not confirm when exemption will be given. Will not compensate businesses who had already prepared for scheme he is blocking.
The Scottish GRRA would only affect trans persons whose birth was registered in Scotland and who therefore have a Scottish birth certificate. Idea that the GRRA would have impact on the GRA & Equalities act elsewhere in the UK is ludicrous! Patent &shameful politicking by Tories.
Well that’s the covid enquiry over in Scotland. The sneering viceroy Jack is exposed as a hateful creep. Now we know the real reason why Mundell was sacked - for getting on well with the Scottish Government.

This is very interesting. Of course the right of self determination was at issue. The SC ruled that the Scottish Government didn’t even have the right to ask the people a question.
Labour have clearly been stung by Humza’s comments that Scottish votes aren’t needed in UK election as England decides the outcome. Here’s the evidence. The best outcome for Scots would be a Labour minority UK government with a majority of SNP MPs holding the balance of power.
@paulmasonnews
The door’s open for the LDs. Not sure about traditional shire dwelling Tories continuing to support the party. The more peaceable decent element likely to vote LD. Meaning next parliament could be interesting.
The very fact that Polly Toynbee refers to us Scots as ‘them’ says it all. We’re clearly not fellow compatriots, are we? Britain is a myth. It may be a state buy it’s certainly not a nation.
Scottish independence makes The Guardian’s Polly Toynbee sad so she suggests London Labour dictate the terms of a referendum with a snap vote to cheat Scots again.
@LauraFMcConnell
Our voices discounted in the last eighty years. We struck oil, told it was just a wee drop, labour in the sixties, hid the money from the Scottish people. Did they share the wealth with the people of these isles? No we got the Tory Liberal, Tory, and now New Labour tory austerity
‘Redcoat’ has become a metonym for the brutality meted out to the clans after the ‘45 and the cultural vandalism associated with it. Nobody is disputing that Scottish soldiers in the British army wore red coats.
It’s been reported over the weekend that 20,000 Israeli soldiers holding dual British-Israeli nationality will be returning to Britain. Surely this represents a security risk? They will be rabidly Islamophobic but could also themselves be targets of anti-Israeli feeling. Surely/
It might be windy.
It might be grey.
But 98% of our electricity is green, and the price of electricity is 20cents including tax, transmission costs and fees.
God morgen everyone 😊
As long as Scotland exists there will always be a case for self-determination and there will always be Scots pushing for it. Why is that so hard for Labour to grasp? This is not a blip. Our cause is just. There was a time when Labour supprted ‘home rule’. What changed?
Keep reposting this folks. It is only ever going to go one way for Scotland in the UK, and that is, we get smaller, and smaller, and smaller. Not so long ago we had 72 MPs (1990s) recently, 59, and now, 57. To 🏴s 543. 🏴 decides EVERY SINGLE TIME
The UK parliament has 650 MP's so approx 162 MPs for each country would be a Nation of equals? This is a myth promoted by Unionists and a few unionist MP's who managed to sneak in through a list in Scotland
England 543
Scotland 57
Wales 32
Ni 18
We are not a Nation of equals.
@PhantomPower14
As I’ve said several times already this was not a Yes rally. It was not a gathering for Scottish independence. It was an anti-Tory protest and protests are by nature angry.

The SNP fights for Scotland. It’s a people’s party. We don’t have big corporate donors, we depend on the people’s support. Now is the time to donate to the SNP. If 100,000 of us gave £10, we’d have £1 million to fight the next general election.
@brawday
I’m sick of this Scottophobia. I don’t know what I am angrier at - the fact that it happens so routinely or the fact that we Scots shrug it off as somehow just life and OK. It is not OK. It is a form of racism, and we are mugs to not call it out as hate. On yer feet Scotland.
So many negative stories in news about NHS but today a REAL GP approached us today in Marchmont and told us how proud she was of working for Scotland’s NHS and how world-beating it is in many fields.

For crying out loud stop this nonsense. She was not on any WhatsApp groups. ScotGov decisions were not made by WhatsApp but were properly recorded. She sent a few DMs to Devi Shridar to ask questions. Official policy advice was to delete any informal messaging.
Stooshie about Erdogan: Turkey is a NATO ally. You don’t snub a NATO ally when at short notice they re-schedule a ‘brush-past’ meeting with a sub-national UK leader just because the FCDO official chose not to follow the Scottish delegation that day. How would that have looked?
Canvassing in Marchmont today met many locals who’ll be voting SNP. Dismayed at behaviour of Westminster Tories. This is coming up as an issue in local election.

Young people challenging Ian Murray on his changed stance in Gaza then reprimanded by Sheila Gilmour, a former Edinburgh Labour councillor. ‘Excuse me, some of us have come here for a Labour party meeting’. Gaza is obviously of no interest to them and young folk are seeing this.
Footage has emerged of pro-Palestine protesters confronting Scottish Labour MP Ian Murray during a party meeting.
Labour are being challenged by members of the public on a daily basis.
Labour’s general election campaign will have to be done via zoom!
It sounds that they might allow us an indyref2 as long as the bar is set so high it will fail. All we need is 50% + 1. Do we accept the challenge? I say yes, but that we say we do not accept a higher bar than Brexit and will appeal to the UN.
Environmental campaigners ignorantly heckling FM. He has condemned new licences and does not have the power to stop them. What is wrong with these people? Barking up wrong tree!
The council may extract a fee for landlord registration and HMO admin. But no c’tax as it’s rented to students. The agents will get their monthly fee, maybe 10%. The occasional tradesman, a bit of work. But 80%+ is being hoovered up out of our local economy./
@timesscotland
You mean, London is to decide for all of us and not respect Scottish democracy. Tell me, do you enjoy being imperialists? Because that’s what this is.
When income tax is payable on this asset it will show up as English or UK revenue though the profit was generated in Scotland, as his company (not his assets) is based at an English address. Apart from not showing up in GERS, very little of this rent will remain in Scotland./
This makes for sobering reading. Basically, the UK government is making the Scottish government redundant and the Sewell convention is shown to be nothing more than tissue paper entirely dependent on the graciousness of the UK.

Please re-post. Michael Shanks decried ‘SNP’ council tax increases. Now that there will be a c’tax freeze…. condemnation. SNP damned if they do and damned if they don’t.
We can argue the breaking of NI Protocol and illegal proroguing of parliament are further examples of the tyrannous regime we suffer. The international community may well agree. UK not doing itself any favours.

That’s not what’s happening Malcolm. Ms Baxter is a director of Scotland in Union and is politicising this for party benefit ahead of the by election. The other unions have accepted the enhanced offer and consider her stance bizarre.

A few of us Yes women give our heartfelt thanks to FM Nicola Sturgeon today outside Bute House for the outstanding leadership she has given Scotland through the most difficult times in our recent modern history. We stand proud to stand by you Nicola.
How many times does it have to be explained to unionists and so called Scottish journos that the laws in relation to the Isla Bryson incarceration issue were made in UK by Labour governments between 2004 and 2010?
@MhairiHunter
So does the pensioners group I was talking with on Monday, who, quite unprompted, started to express the view that the way the media were now hounding her, and JL, was disgraceful. ‘She kept us safe, unlike that clown Johnson’. Scales are falling from people’s eyes.
No concrete proposals in any of this. It’s same old, same old. Without a written constitution binding the ‘crown in parliament’ Westminster can do whatever it wants &talk of ‘respect’ for UK regions (yes, Scotland is a ‘region’) is just fluff.

The Tory Westminster government has used Brexit to give itself a new power of veto over Scotland's elected Parliament.
Everyone who believes in devolution and Scottish democracy should be standing with

She has been the subject of relentless abuse in the press and social media for years. Jeremy Clarkson compared her with Rose West and got away with it. Only so much misogyny even a strong woman can take.
It’s been evident for some time - since 2017 - that the unionist vote is abandonning traditional voting patterns in favour of parties and candidates most likely to defeat SNP. The supposed rise in Labour is coming from Tory voters scunnered by Brexiteer corruption.
