After 18 years of this tired, permanently distracted SNP government my constituents and all of Scotland deserve more than an apology.

Great piece on the Sighthill Stones. I ran round the Cuddies twice when I was doing the every street thing - first when Sighthill was a vast fenced off building site and again two years later to capture the streets newly opened within it.
"Weird things like the standing stones give the city its soul." There's an extract from Upon A White Horse in today's @heraldscotland. It's about Glasgow's only stone circle. I'll be talking about the book at the @AyeWrite festival on November 15.

Climate action is the growth story š
Although we may have underestimated the risks of the climate crisis, we have also been too pessimistic about the opportunities created by new, green technology, writes @lordstern1.

Great to celebrate with the congregation of Rutherglen West and Wardlaw Hill Parish Church this morning on their 175th anniversary - making it one of the oldest places of worship in the Royal Burgh. Wonderful sermon from the Moderator of Glasgow Presbytery.

The appalling incident on a train near Huntingdon is deeply concerning. My thoughts are with all those affected, and my thanks go to the emergency services for their response. Anyone in the area should follow the advice of the police.

The price of failure by the Tories to build the grid needed for the new energy infrastructure they built. And now they oppose the investment in transmission infrastructure to fix it. We're upgrading the grid so that we all benefit from cheaper power.
'It's perverse that operators are paid a premium to keep the turbines switched off, at a time when folk who can see them from their front doors are unable to turn the heating on in their homes'

Kemi Badenoch just said: "another company, Petrofac, has just decided that it cannot go on in Scotland" - either a deliberate lie from her or complete ignorance. Petrofac's UK operations are growing and successful. The workers deserve better than this wilful misinformation.

Hugely important investment in Aberdeen's energy future and a fantastic project. A great example of the investment we are delivering to drive forward the jobs in the energy transition.

Even though battery storage is safe, perception is important. I'll continue this conversation and look at the best available evidence. Defra has also consulted on regulation recently and will respond in due course. Our aim is always to bring communities with us on this mission.

Battery storage is safe and vital to bring down bills by storing cheap electricity for when we need it. However I know there are some concerns in communities so I met experts from the Environment Agency, Fire Chiefs, devolved govts, insurers & developers to discuss it further.

Unlike John Swinney, I am not going to insult the intelligence of Scots. The Scottish election is about building a better Scotland - not about Reform or another election that is four years away. As First Minister, I will deliver the transformative change Scotland needs.

Looking forward to speaking at the Just Transition Commission Summit in Edinburgh later. Hereās the gist of my argument š
Exclusive: "Lessons" from Grangemouth "will inform every decision we make, Michael Shanks will say in a speech today. The UK energy minister will argue it is right not to take a ābinary approachā of going full green or maxing out the North Sea. https://t.co/X1vGscmnFZ
