@Gabby_Brauner27 If you hate everyone, eat a snack. If you think everyone hates you, take a nap. Put an airtag/tile on your badge so you don’t lose it. When in doubt, go see the patient. When worried, call for help. Every res/fellow is in a new role. Give yourself & them some grace.

In today’s c-section, it took me longer to scrub in than it took for the doctor to go from first cut to baby out (2 minutes). OB/GYN doctors do not mess around 😱

An attending told a classmate that if she just paid attention in the hospital, she wouldn’t need to study at home, because the Shelf exam only covers things you’ll regularly see… I’ve never heard a group of students laugh harder.

The further I get away from Step 1, the less I’m convinced I actually took it. You learn so much info, to only have a small % of it come up in 280 questions has me wondering if I missed something. Was there a second day? A physical challenge? A blood oath I forgot to take?

Being a second year med student right now is a mess. You study diseases, and then take a break to talk to friends and family about...a disease, and then go on social media to hear about that disease, and then you open your email to more talk about the disease.
