Some personal news: Last month, while Davis and I were taking in the beauty of Banff National Park, we decided to nix our original engagement plans, buy cheap rings at a shop in Banff, and propose to one another at Lake Louise. It was unplanned and intimate and perfect ❤️

In the early pages of the book, Becca writes that she hopes that this will be a book that gets passed around as people consider and have abortions. Given how common abortion is, it seems like a book that everyone should have on their bookshelf. I really can't recommend it enough.

As an author, Becca is your cool and supportive big sister, there to affirm your decision, correct common misperceptions grounded in stigma, and guide you through the process from beginning to end. I wanted to sit down with her over a bottle of wine and a big slice of cake.

The book is comprehensive, comprising information on the history of abortion laws, digital safety, strategies for managing feelings before and after abortion, prompts for how to ask for help, and affirmations for when self-stigma and shame start to creep in.

The Abortion Companion is an accessible and inclusive tool for understanding what to expect with different types of abortions, finding accurate information about mediation/procedural abortion in your area, and working through feelings around abortion, whatever they may be.

Abortion is common: roughly one in four women will have an abortion in her lifetime, and trans & nonbinary people also have abortions. Yet, it remains stigmatized and increasingly difficult to access in the US, complicating people's choices and adding to stress to the decision.

Today, I was lucky enough to receive an Advance Reader Copy of Becca Rea-Tucker's "The Abortion Companion: An Affirming Handbook for Your Choice and Your Journey." I had hoped to finish it by the end of October, but I read it in a single sitting today because I just loved it! 🧵

Hello! A student is hoping to learn more about doulas and what it’s like to be/become one. Do I have anyone in my network who is a doula or knows one who may be willing to speak with a student?

Our study of 1,128 high schoolers in the Southeast found sexual & gender minority youth face higher suicide risk—linked in part to greater exposure to others’ suicidal behavior. There is an urgent need for targeted prevention & support. Open access link:
