Tell me again the $100,000 fee isn't a killer for the H1b visa program. Everyone in these 20 states who hates the H1b visa should understand what your state government is doing here. They are actually using your tax dollars to fight in court for foreigners to take your job.

I think millennials are the real AI sweet spot. Digital natives with just enough experience to prompt well and sanity-check the output. Gen Z is too inexperienced and trusts AI like it’s gospel. Gen X is trying to make it to retirement without learning another interface.

I'd really like some folks in tech to go work in banking or consulting or law just for a year to learn that working hard is hardly unusual and then pivot to posting about results instead of the grindset mindset.

Fette Sau was the first restaurant I went to when I moved to Williamsburg in 2007. My new roommate took me there as a welcome dinner. We waited in a long line (as one did back then). It was the perfect embodiment of Peak Williamsburg. (a thread)

I only take the 7am flight - or better yet 6 or 5am if they have them. The planes are almost always without delay. You get to your destination with most of the day still ahead of you. Everyone on the plane is quiet and respectful. There's really no downside here

So I think adding payroll taxes to direct offshored labor seems like it would add about $100 billion in annual revenue and possibly drive some reshoring. Seems like we should do it asap!

40(!!!) American engineers designed this. A team of 300(!!) built it in 4 years. A few dozen of our people forged a machine so advanced that it still commands wonder six decades later. Not one H-1B. Not one foreign hand. Just Americans doing what Americans do best: building the

a number that NOBODY ever mentions is that, for the average working age adult, almost 10% of their GROSS income is IMMEDIATELY transferred to retired baby boomers via FICA and portions of the income tax. let me repeat- BOOMERS get 10 CENTS of EVERY DOLLAR YOU MAKE

gen Z and millenials already outnumber boomers. 1-2 million boomers die a year. politically hitching your wagon to what benefits old people by taking money from the young is a losing proposition. neither party seems to grasp that the only winning coalition is working age adults.

The USA has a region called “Silicon Valley” for no reason whatsoever. Don't look up Bill Hewlett, David Packard, or the Stanford Industrial Park. Also, it's not like Americans invented computers or the internet or anything.
