This is shocking but unfortunately not surprising. Doctors in my opinion should not be offering exercise advice. Highly educated individuals yes, exercise experts.. no!
An obesity doctor told one of my patients they shouldn't be swimming because it will raise their cortisol and they won't lose weight. These doctors should lose their licenses.

Cardiac rehabilitation services are so much more than providing exercise classes for patients post MI and/or heart surgery. Cardiac rehabilitation can support heart failure services to provide care and increase confidence in patients diagnosed with what is a terrifying diagnosis
Today marks the start of Heart Failure Awareness Week! This year’s theme 'Heart Failure Doesn’t Stop Us' highlights the importance of early detection and timely treatment to improve patient outcomes and reduce mortality. Working together we can help patients #LiveWell! @escardio

7 months ago I was ventilated in a coma with autoimmune encephalitis. I had to learn to walk and talk again in Walton hospital where I spent 4 months. On the weekend I walked/jogged/ran 3km 💪🏼

When our bodies remain in static postures our blood cannot flow as freely, leading to reduced flow, sheer stress, and dilation. Since we aren't contracting our muscles to help our blood return to our heart, our heart has to work harder, leading to prolonged, elevated HR and BP.
