Lastly, divorce is bad. Do try to avoid it. It's especially bad for children. But it isn't the end of the world. It's not SO incredibly bad that it's worth avoiding marriage on purpose just so you can't get divorced. That's like avoiding employment so you can't be fired.

So here's the thing. If "financially trapping" women creates stable and happy families then this is an argument in favor of financially trapping women. Women are more miserable now. Men are more miserable now. Children are more miserable now. I don't think it's the freedom.
