Our collaborators at the @czbiohub experimentally validated 92 nanobodies designed by the Virtual Lab. Two of these designs—one mutant Nb21 nanobody and one mutant Ty1 nanobody—gained binding to recent variants such as JN.1 and KP.3.

As a real-world case study, we used the Virtual Lab to design nanobodies to bind to recent variants of SARS-CoV-2. Through a series of team and individual meetings, the Virtual Lab built a computational nanobody design pipeline utilizing ESM, AlphaFold-Multimer, and Rosetta.

The Virtual Lab consists of a human researcher and several LLM agents, including a PI, a scientific critic, and several science agents. The human and LLM agents discuss science via team meetings with all the agents and solve tasks via individual meetings with specific agents.
