New study out in @JCI_insight! @PrecVaccines members @levy_o, @JoannDArce, Al Ozonoff, and #IMPACC collaborators show the MICBG406A gene variant may protect against severe #COVID19 and viral lung injury by lowering #inflammation and risk of critical illness. #PrecVaccinesNetwork

Our #IMPACC aging manuscript is published. Kudos to lead authors @HoangVanPhan2 @ATsitsiklis @colemag9 and Chaz Langelier.
Why are older adults much more susceptible to severe Covid? Multiple liabilities: reduced ability to clear the virus, immune signaling dysregulation, and an untoward pro-inflammatory response of genes and proteins https://t.co/WEMoDjOyNV

Yes no idea why some folks worry about the number of authors on a paper. If someone contributed ideas or work that advance any aspect of the paper including data that did not end up in the final paper (but part of the twists to find answers), include them!
Credit is infinitely divisible in academia: the more authors on a paper, the merrier. Middle authors contribute so much and share in the credit, while that doesn’t take away any of the credit from the lead contributors.
