#WorldParkinsonsDay I’m still working 13 years after diagnosis-wish I’d know that 13 years ago!! But conducting Carmina Burana @southbankcentre on Saturday would be easier if I wasn’t coping with shortages of Parkinson’s drugs too! One for health minister @VictoriaAtkins

‘It is not the LSO or Royal Philharmonic or London Philharmonic’s responsibility to educate children. It is the government’s job to start educating children and creating not only talent for the future but also audiences.’ Absolutely. Well said, Sir Antonio Pappano

Guys, seriously. It can't be that hard to find a photo of me 🙄?? A kind @BBCRadio3 listener who heard @TheGesualdoSix performing my In Winter's House (brilliantly) on @MannGeorgia's Essential Classics last Friday was most aggrieved on my behalf. Spot the odd one out @owainpark

It always annoys me to hear continuity announcers on classical radio stations talking about ‘Relaxing sounds’ — as though the purpose of classical music is just to calm you down, instead of exciting you or making you think….

Whatever your 2023 was, here’s to a bright 2024. Final word of the year to the wonderful @BBCSingers - well, the upper voices, with the brilliant @graceconductor and @CatrinFinch. BB always says it best. (The future’s bright - we’re in our centenary year from tomorrow)

Once again, the BBC makes it very clear that classical music scarcely makes it on to its radar when it lists notable music deaths of the year on its website. No mention this time of James Bowman, Grace Bumbry, Ryland Davies, Stephen Gould, Yuri Temirkanov or Renata Scotto.
