Golgi apparatus is a daunting target for imaging for its uniquely stacked morphology throughout 3D space. To see how we combined super-resolution microscopy and biochemistry to study Golgi, please read our manuscript with all supplementary in BioRxiv:
biorxiv.org
Golgin proteins have long been suspected to be organizers of the Golgi stack. Using three-dimensional super-resolution microscopy, we comprehensively localize the human golgin family at the rim of...

@juanmagararc shows that plasma membrane tension gradients are spontaneously formed in adherent cells. Unexpected because of membrane fluidity, cells combine adhesion to limit lipid diffusion and branched actin polymerization to increase tension at the cell edge, bravo Juanma!
🧵 Excited to share our latest preprint on bioRxiv: "Actin Dynamics Sustain Spatial Gradients of Membrane Tension in Adherent Cells"! 🚀🧬 In this thread, we dive into the fascinating world of membranes https://t.co/NWr3ymgYwC

😍 while F-BAR proteins have been proposed to link curvature-sensing to actin polymerization before, previous in vitro assay using liposomes of different sizes actually found the opposite. This might be the first conclusive evidence from an in vitro system.
Thrilled by our collaborative work with @wtzhaolab @RangaminiUCSD, unveiling how membrane nanotopography dictates actin nucleation via curvature-guided nano-condensation. This nano-engineering approach reshapes our grasp of dynamic biochemical reactions.

We shows that FtsZ treadmilling acts both as a template to corral cell wall enzymes into close contacts for priming and as a conveyor to homologize the septal distribution of cell wall synthesis for even septum constriction. Great collaborations w/t @jiexiao_lab & D.S. Weiss.

How is endocytosis initiated at synapses? In this new collaborative paper with @JianLiu_Lab, led by @UnculturedTy & Haoyuan, we suggest a novel idea - exocytosis causes lateral membrane compression, leading to the pit formation! https://t.co/mVoHQ5bmRx
