For the #GUPath afficionados that missed this general SP platform, my outstanding fellow, Lan Zheng presents a study on the utility of Sox17 in differentiation clear cell carcinomas from the GU and GYN tract. Important study with practical implications. #USCAP2024

Mucinous fibroplasia, a.k.a. collagenous micronodules (L) - considered fibrous reaction to previously extravasated mucin (R) - in this case, causing significant enough distortion to mimic cribriform #prostatecancer #gupath

Mimics in #gupath can be striking and frightening. This was a case of a prostate core biopsy - patient had a normal PSA but a mass. This is a urothelial carcinoma mimicking prostate cancer, seen on prostate core biopsy.

Granulomas in the prostate can be due to NSGP, BCG therapy for bladder cancer, post biopsy, or infectious. When associated with eosinophils, deeper levels can show you the visitors! Find more tips at https://t.co/LGNhAHPw4Q. #gupath #urology @science_press

Villous adenoma of the bladder 🔸Rare 🔸Looks like counterpart in GIT 🔸Villoglandular architecture; mucinous epithelium 🔸Enteric immunophenotype (CK20+ CDX2+) 🔸Examine entire lesion to exclude associated adenoca 🔸Local excision curative if no invasive component #gupath
