Universities and medical schools that charge a whopping 4500$ a month from a third world/developing country medical students for a single month of medical observership shouldn’t be breaching how much they embraced DEI to the world @IMG_Oncologists

🎧A beauty salon staffer in Karachi was chatting with one of us in the media team and we recorded her audio. She had a message for @FarahQamar11. Watch for her reaction. #STEAM

Snakebites and pesticide poisoning fill our ICUs. Can we rely on Western medical textbooks to treat these cases here? Not really. Why? Because they rarely encounter these patients in their countries. It's a gap we need to address. #MedicalPractice #GlobalHealth

Unpaid research fellowships for IMGs should be illegal, working for 1-2 years without getting a salary on the off chance of matching and starting residency is borderline exploitation #medtwitter

@Codie_Sanchez First, you work hard, then you work smart. It's simple, but most people misinterpret it and start working smart at the beginning. This causes them to fail and then quit.

For all the protestors, pepper spray is oil based. If you get sprayed DO NOT rub your eyes. Immediately blink as much as you can to wash out some of the oil with your own tears. Then, wash your eyes with baby shampoo and rinse copiously with water. Be safe.

Someone said to me recently that she couldn't go away because her boyfriend couldn't handle the (2) dogs overnight. I've heard other women say their husbands can't take the kids overnight. Who has raised these men and why are they so incompetent?

I truly don’t understand how some students can go to so many conferences. Flight, hotel, registration. But they are necessary to attend for some fields & I want to put my best foot forward. I’m at a cross road.

As #Match2025 approaches, if you or anyone you know needs help with personal statements or anything under the sun regarding the process, my DMs are open. Like always, this is free of charge. As it should be. Please don’t go to someone who charges for these services. Good luck! ❤️

For anyone who matched at South Alabama, let me know if you’re interested in renting a house! My landlord has two properties he’s trying to rent to residents!

My 3 cents for #Match2022: 1. IMGs are needed & enrich. 2. #IMG does not sum up or define an applicant. They have different shades & stories. Ask about #distancetravelled 3. Prejudice & discrimination hurt. The blanket statement "our program does not take IMGs" will not age well.

Mentors are important in medical training but so are Anti-Mentors! The people you meet in medicine that you NEVER want to be like. There are SO many. Try to figure out how they got to be as they are. This can shape your career in more ways than you know.
