@ImDocPlague 1) Leviticus says to not wear mixed fabric clothing.2) it also says to keep kosher.3) also no tattoos.4) fucking Jesus Christ, Multiple Times, in the new testament says that all of his father's old rules are gone, and that only through him can you get into heaven.

The reason Carrie is still "novel" and "interesting" is because the victim is a fat, queer coded, religiously abused girl who snaps and destroys a portion of the Maine coast with telekinesis.
I trust Mike Flanagan, but I'm gonna say this:. I think the reason why modern adaptations of Carrie flop is because the concept of a bullied teenager mass murdering their classmates just isn't novel or interesting anymore.

@killerguerilla Him being a white soldier means this COULD NOT be swept under the rug as easily. That's what makes this so much more impactful.

You do not want to know how much real icelandic sweaters cost you'll die of shock of a what a sweater where everyone was paid fairly for their time costs.
when someone says they’re depressed about the CURRENT state of sweaters they’re talking about shit you find in stores nowadays. if you have to pay 80 dollars for something 20+ years old to get a decent sweater that just proves that there’s a problem with current sweaters.

@JStein_WaPo @kendrawcandraw Yeah same. I wasn't working for minimum wage but I was definitely barely making ends meet. I cried in November bc I couldn't afford fixing my car's brakes and then maybe two paychecks into unemployment I fixed the brakes and had money leftover.

This sucks so much. Especially considering how adding "reddit" to Google searches about any type of products you were thinking about buying used to give you pretty informational, honest reviews.
OpenAI and Reddit announced a partnership that will allow the ChatGPT maker to train its artificial intelligence models on Reddit content.

I think it's really important that you don't even have to like children or want your own to advocate for them because they are the most vulnerable group on earth.
i bring a sort of “children are the most vulnerable group on earth and all adults have a bare minimum obligation to protect them” vibe to the function that some online freaks find unsettling.

@guacamomole @kendrawcandraw Not to mention all the rural communities that FedEx and UPS just don't go to bc they're so out there. USPS isn't perfect but it's by far the best thing the US government has ever done.

@maxberger You don't get to use the term "Rainbow Coalition" to describe these milquetoast goals. The Rainbow Coalition is what Fred Hampton was murdered for, a coalition of radical people of color in the fight against capitalism.

@morganmpage Also, worth mentioning that Paragraph 175 was taken off the books in the 60's in East Germany, then when the wall came down it was law again, then all of Germany took it off in 94.

I mean the important things to note about Lord of the Flies is that 1) it's a reaction to The Coral Island, a book where the survivors of the crash create a schoolboy utopia, and 2) William Golding was a school teacher,.
a funny thing about the lord of the flies is it's based on what the author thought people would do, but in 1965 when 6 teenaged boys actually did get marooned on a tropical island, instead of tearing each other apart they worked together to reconstruct civilization from scratch
