A thread about using color as a design tool in science presentations. Color is a great tool to separate different categories of information, to highlight information, or to establish an emotional tone. 🧵1/20

Kit 14 will allow users to tune their accuracy & output needs by modifying run conditions in the software. Early work has shown 99.6% raw read accuracy can be achieved at 28 degrees. At 34 degrees, 99.3% is possible whilst generating a high yield. Watch:

Our take on r10 nanopore sequencing for bacterial genome assembly. Comparing r9.4.1, r10.3, r10.4, and illumina. Including HAC, SUP and DUPLEX basecalling. DUPLEX could replace hybrid assemblies, but yields need to improve. With @NicStoesser and @ModMedMicro

I just got my ticket for the @nanopore community meeting. I've heard that poster No. 19 is gonna be quite interesting. Don't forget to pass by and find out what it is about! (or if this is just a shameless self-promoting tweet)

Accuracy often gets a lot of attention when talking about the most recent release of @nanopore chemistry. However, I think it is a game changer that now only 5 fmol of DNA is loaded onto the flowcell. For 10 kb DNA fragments that is down to 31 ng!!!

How do plants 'breathe' underwater? 🌊 ERC grantee @Jan_de_Vries @uniGoettingen sequenced the genome from aquatic plants called #Quillwort, enlarging our understanding of how they compete for carbon dioxide underwater. Read more about his research šŸ‘‰ https://t.co/qBoZxAp04D
