Today in @Nature we report a new prime editing strategy that can rescue a common cause of many genetic diseases in a disease-agnostic manner. This approach converts a redundant endogenous tRNA into an optimized suppressor tRNA, enabling a single prime edit to rescue premature

We mourn the passing of our Editor-in-Chief Steve Long. His vision to establish one of the first journals dedicated to Global Change over 30 years ago was truly ahead of its time. Through GCB, researchers have demonstrated that biology & ecosystems are not simply victims of..

Large language models are reshaping the way we do science, but how well do they actually understand plant molecular biology? ➡️We created MoBiPlant to answer this. 📝Preprint: https://t.co/EhQf4YofLw 💾Dataset: https://t.co/D1B5lBj0UR (Thread below)

Dans 1984, Orwell décrit implacablement un monde où la vérité devient impossible à formuler. Non parce qu’on y ment, mais parce que la distinction même entre vérité et fiction ne peut plus exprimée par le langage, car celui-ci est complètement trafiqué. On y arrive tranquille.
I refuse to sign onto something unless I can stand behind it with scientific certainty. That doesn’t make me ‘anti-vax’ – it makes me pro-science.

Six years ago, I started at the MPIPZ with a head full of ideas. What a journey. I’m thrilled to share that, from Jan 2026, I will be moving to Zurich as a chaired associate professor at the University of Zurich. A new chapter, and plenty of roots still to grow. Can’t wait!

As long as guns are easily available to crazy people, mass killings directed at soft targets will continue. This is a fact. Countries where it's more difficult for crazy people to obtain guns have fewer mass killings. This is also a fact. Do with these facts as you will.

Medicine and public health have added three decades to the human lifespan. Vaccination alone produced 40% of the reduction in child deaths. And now a disturbed and unqualified man driven by crackpot theories is destroying the foundations of this work, including CDC.
RFK JR: I’m looking at kids as I walk through the airports today...and I see these kids that are just overburdened with mitochondrial challenges, inflammation—you can tell from their faces, movements, and lack of social connection

We are thrilled to have our spatial single-cell atlas of the Arabidopsis lifecycle in @NaturePlants. It turns out that it is easy to generate aesthetic images when the spatial expression of 1,000 genes is available! 1/n @NatanellaE @nobolly @JoeEcker
