The long term use of medications 💊 for obesity treatment is NOT promising according to this evidence: Study Shows 85% Of Patients Stop GLP-1s For Obesity After 2 Years
forbes.com
Evidence that many people may stop their use of obesity drugs not long after starting casts doubt on sustainability of weight loss to achieve long-term positive outcomes.

Headline, practice-changing results of the By Band Sleeve RCT presented for the 1st time at #BOMSS2023. Huge excitement in the room. ⭐️ WL from Sleeve is inferior to RYGB, mirrored by quality of life and health economic metrics ⭐️ RYGB > SG > Band @bariatricBOMSS @BlazebyJ

Excited to share our new publication on combination therapy of TORe + anti-obesity medication (AOM) for weight regain (thank you @GIE_Journal)! TORe + AOM is superior to either therapy alone and yields similar weight loss as surgical revision of RYGB. https://t.co/Wv7ISSvJ2x

The prospective PLASTIC study found that, for staging locally advanced gastric cancer, FDG-PET/CT has limited additive value as it detects metastatic disease in only 3%. Staging laparoscopy adds considerably as it detects non-curable disease in 19%

I used to call the sleeve gastrectomy a “Turbo-band”. At 10 years, the SG lost its “turbo properties”. SG=adjustable gastric banding regarding weight loss and conversion rate.
