My amazing technician, Jennifer Su
@LabJacks
, decided it would be most efficient to start a timed protocol at 3 AM yesterday. This is what I walked into this morning. Made my day🤣
This month, we're excited to extend a warm welcome to three new lab members: Leou Ismael Banla, a resident physician/research fellow; Peter Wang, a postdoctoral research fellow; and Nicole Lester, a research technician!🙌🥳🥂
I've never felt more like a PI than when I received an email from an awesome admin with unsolicited click-by-click instructions on what I need to do...and I'm not the least bit offended she doesn't think I can figure this out myself because she's 100% correct🤣

Our lab will focus on the high-resolution study of tumor-stroma interactions in gastrointestinal cancers through development and application of techniques in single-cell/spatial biology, multiplexed imaging, and functional screens to patient specimens, organoids, & animal models.
The lab is growing! I want to extend a warm welcome to several new members who recently joined or are rotating in the lab this Spring. We can't wait to work with all of you🤩

Dr Larissa Lee was a wonderful physician, person, mentor, and role model to me and so many others. I will miss her greatly but always carry the lessons she taught me about life—always do the right thing for our patients and our children—even if the hurdles seem insurmountable.
A beautiful tribute from
@DrBBychkovsky
about the wonderful Dr Larissa Lee. Larissa was a fantastic person and amazing friend. She was also a gifted physician who helped so many patients. If you’re able, please donate in her memory at the links below.
Sadly today is the last official day in the lab for

, who along with her experimental counterpart,
@jennifer3su
, both did an incredible job moving our science forward in countless directions. We will miss them but happy they won't be going far away.
It was very cool to have Aviv Regev as MGH/MGB Radiation Oncology Grand Rounds Speaker today 🙏🙏🙏
Amazing tour de force through the fascinating (and to me slightly intimidating) world of spatial cancer transcriptomics🔥🔥🔥

We optimized single-nucleus RNA-seq for banked frozen patient specimens and profiled 224,988 nuclei across 43 tumors (18 untreated, 25 treated). Representative cell type distributions were captured compared to estimates from multiplexed ion beam imaging
