That turn to the right effectively meant the War was won for the Union. Sadly my Great Great Grandfather made that turn and fought bravely until being captured at the Siege of Petersburg. Although quickly repatriated he had developed ultimately fatal dysentery while a POW.

Please note the specific order of items 4 and 5 and I agree it is vital. Sadly, my father died far too young (hearth attack) when I was a child and I know all too well the challenges of having to grow up without a father and in poverty. Miss him still...56 years on Monday....

When conducting mineral exploration many years ago north of the Topaz Range in Utah I came across a former "relocation camp". I could not image the horror of mainly California families being incarcerated in that barren semi-desert area for simply being who they were.

My Great Great Grandfather who died as the result of dysentery after being captured at the siege of Petersburg. Although soon rescued by Union soldiers he had become too sick to survive. His death deeply impoverished his wife and their 3 small children in northern Michigan.
