Dassault Mirage III RS was Swiss Air Force’s dedicated recce version adapted from French Mirage III R but tailored to Switzerland’s needs. Swiss Mirages could be fitted with two SEPR 841 solid-fuel rocket boosters under the rear fuselage.

de Havilland Sea Venom. Originated as a naval derivative of the DH.112 Venom NF.2, with folding wings, catapult spools, and arrestor hook. First flew in 1951; entered FAA service in 1954. Built to replace the piston-engined Sea Hornet and early jet Sea Vampire.

27 Aug 1990 – First flight Northrop YF-23.considered stealthier and faster, with better range than YF-22 was seen as more agile and had flight control system and weapons integration closer to production-ready. In 1991, Air Force selected YF-22 as winner, leading to F-22 Raptor.

Lockheed F-104 Starfighter served with the Royal Norwegian Air Force (RNoAF) from early 1960s to early 1980s. gradually replaced in late 1970s and early 1980s by F-16 Fighting Falcon, which offered far greater versatility and safety margins. Final withdrawal of type came 1983.
