There is so much hype attached to air travel and airports. Why are simple processes like wheelchair services such a mess for over a decade? . It does not inspire confidence, this inefficiency. And in India we have rail stations and bus terminals aspiring to be airport-like. 🤦🏾.
As a disabled passenger, to get a WCHC status on my ticket, I was put through the bureaucratic, broken process which went in circles with Air India. They made me run to their offices, fill 10+ page forms and get them signed by my Doctors. As a PwD their process is unacceptable.

It's known in disability circles that @airindia avoids using WCHC SSR code because that would mean ambulift / aerobridge charges. @IndiGo6E has started illegally capping wheelchair users / flight to 4 - there is 0 transparency on SSR type. Airlines need reigning in.@DGCAIndia!.
AIR INDIA: HASRASSMENT & DISAPPOINTMENT🧵.Im a wheelchair user. I was supposed to fly with.@airindia in Aug. What followed was 6 weeks of confusion, email chains, and zero accountability—for basic wheelchair assistance request. This is what its like to fly disabled with Air India.

Seriously @IndiGo6E ? Are we eyeballing people now to decide whether they look like they need wheelchair assistance?. The trope of Indians abusing wheelchair service as jugaad for a Meet And Assist Service (MAAS) doesn't hold good for the many service failures in domestic travel.
@IndiGo6E Absolutely horrible service at Patna airport. Despite booking wheelchair for my mother none available. Staff tells me my mom doesn't look old (she's 80) and that she can probably check in post which they will try to organise a wheelchair. 6E 5009 (ref C7MSUQ).

7m low floor buses with foldout ramp? There is always a way to include, even with a micro bus as @sudhirbadami has proposed.
Is this the Smart City we were promised?.Not a single wheelchair-accessible bus runs from Panaji Bus Stand to Junta House. Only 7m mini buses — no ramps, no space for wheelchairs. Excuse? Narrow roads & parked cars. Accessibility is a right, not a favour. #RPwDAct2016
