Joe Khan, a Democrat, won the District Attorney race in my hometown for the first time since 1891.
A lot of chatter lately about what Dems can and can't campaign on (climate, among other things) – but Joe Khan became the first Dem D.A. in Bucks by specifically campaigning on the environment because voters wanted someone who would actually fight for them

A staunchly conservative politician has lost reelection in Colorado, in what seems to have been a historic night for liberals in Aurora — a city they'd struggled to flip.
NEW: Aurora City Councilwoman Danielle Jurinsky has conceded. A stunning defeat for a MAGA media fixture who built a national profile on claims of a "complete gang takeover" of Aurora that led President Trump to visit and falsely proclaim the city "conquered" by an immigrant gang

A big reason Yes on Prop 50 has a massive (and still growing) lead statewide is the huge margins it's getting within LA The No campaign has just 12% in LA's CA37 right now There are still hundreds of thousands of Dem-leaning mail ballots to count, so these leads will grow...

More New Yorkers voted on Tuesday than in any other mayoral election this century, according to NYC Board of Elections data. Here are some of the key takeaways from Election Day 2025: https://t.co/ubEOYipZYL

There were 13 elections last night for a statewide office. Democrats swept all 13. That’s 1 in NJ. 3 in VA. 2 in GA. 7 in PA (all judges, retention & regular). They won 12 races by double-digits, with margins up to 24%. The 13th race, the tightest, they won by 6%.

"If you're financially stable, you have the privilege of being able to care about candidates' shortcomings." this is so smart
In our poll, Jones handily won voters who had the most salient issue, the cost of living and the economy, at the top of their mind. If you're financially stable, you have the privilege of being able to care about candidates' shortcomings.

As you can see on the map Jones did worst with college-educated, wealthy white voters who were well aware of his scandals. Jones did better than Harris with a lot of working-class, youth, and minority voters.
NOW on the @StateNavigate NavCast, you can see precinct, county, and districtwide shifts from 2024 presidential. Votes allocated by formula for now, haven't checked today to see if all localities have allocated to precinct yet but when they do will do https://t.co/3dy7hUnxUB

Fox: A new poll finds about 70% of Americans say groceries are more expensive now than they were a year ago. About 60% of them are blaming Trump.

The Democratic victories in New Jersey and Virginia, up and down the ballot, were deeper and I think even more meaningful than our 2017 wins in both states that set up the 2018 Blue Wave. I wrote about what happened, and why we should have hope, here.

Jared Golden told me last year that he carries a concealed handgun when he's in public "pretty much always." And he's a 43-year-old former Marine. This is someone far better equipped to handle threats than most of us and certainly most elected officials.

Rep. Jared Golden frustrates some Democrats by keeping his distance. Allies say it's part of his formula for holding a red district.
Extremely bad sign that Golden cites fears of political violence as a reason not to run for re-election...

Absolutely begging people to not over interpret shifts in exit polling, a thing which is reliably wrong and especially wrong about demographic shifts like this. Chill out and wait for voter files.
I would love to read more about the young-dude swing to the left yesterday. One possibility: This cohort is blowing right and left in the wind. Except the wind is “incumbent anger about affordability.” Another possibility: It was an off-year election, which probably means the
